my touch screens a little dodgy on my lite. If press the right side of my touch touch screen is sorta moves a bit but if press the left side it ok. Other than that and a few scratches here and there it fine for me

oh this is gonna be fun...

DS Lite Polar White.

1.) Broken Hinge
2.) A Few Scratched On Touch Screen
3.) L Button Not Responsive Sometimes
4.) Some Crack Over L Button ( Well it's hard to Descripe Though. ) ( It's Not On It Though )

It was so hard to believe that my DS Lite would have that many problems X_X
But I'm happy that it still works ( I wouldn't find it bad but it seems normal to have a DS Lite for almost 3 years xD )

AHAHAHA true story everyone. . . I BROKE MY DS's PHAT TOP SCREEN! lol. . .
i got bored so i started to twist it to try and bring back color and get some animations, and well the screen turned funny, so i just decided to snap it off!

i got a DS lite and when i got my ItouchDS it Would run games, the n 5 min later it would shut off...
So i took it back and got a new one..

works..

My DS Lite has a bit of dirt and sweat under the translucent glossy stuff, but otherwise quite good condition.

My old DS Phat's R button doesn't work very well.

I got 1 dead pixel, i forgot when i got that, it wasn't there when i first got my DSl, it thought it was only dirt for the first time.

I can proudly say that I have a white DSL after a year of heavy use that has no defects.

2. calibration has been stuffed (need to touch screen approx 5-10mm to the right) for about a year now and i haven't been able to fix it

I know this sounds obvious, but until I played with the system settings i didn't know the DS had a recalibrate option, so in case you didn't realise... Does the DS Phat not have the recalibration option as one of the choices from the start/default/no-cartridge screens? I thought the Phat had the same firmware as the Lite.
Yeah it does, and no it doesn't help...it just keeps going around all points and doesn't 'accept' calibration. I even cleaned it under the edges as per other instructions I found, but still no luck. I've just accepted that its stuffed!

My DS Phat still works perfectly. My little brother's DS Lite has an inaccurate touch screen though. I tried to recalibrate it for him, it helped a bit, but it's still very inaccurate.

DS Phat, tons of scratches, and the screen protector has a lot of scratches on it. I need to find a new screen protector and replace it. I'm thinking of buying a DSL, do they still need screen protectors?

My Nintendo DS has it's L and R buttons chipped, because I wasn't careful enough when walking into my house one night, and dropped it. (By the way, this happened in the same exact spot twice.) Also, the paint in the edges has been rubbed off (excessive play, I assume is the cause), but it's been that way since May of 06. And I got it September 05.
The hinge has been slightly busted, with a piece of it separated, which I still have. That's about all, except the problem with the X button, and the D-pad is a bit creaky.

My DS Lite only has a scratched screen, but it absolutely CANNOT connect to Wi-Fi, which I consider a defect.

My sister's DS Phat has the same L and R button issue, but then there's the screen issue, and the fact that it shuts off randomly, even at full charge.

My Lite has no defects (although I accidently sleeped beside it a lot of times...or maybe on it...shit I shouldn't watch animes late at night...xD)
my fat one had one dead green pixel on the topscreen and the touchscreen didn't responded quite good because of scratches...but the battery was still excellent.
