Misc Does Windows 7 have some sort of restriction/limit with Mac Addresses?

This is kinda 3DS related but more involving PCs.

I am using a program called MACycler which controls macshift to make it noob friendly for people like me. There is a list of 160 MAC addresses for the program to connect with that I am sucessfully connect with however whenever I want to change it to a custom address of my choosing it changes back to my default MAC address no matter what I do.

Is there some sort of values the MAC address will refuse to change to or anything that's possibly making it unwilling to change?

This is really frustrating. I know its capable of having its MAC changed with any of the 160 MACs in the list. Why won't it allow me to change to a custom MAC?

Basically you are restricted by the 2nd number in the first octet. If you try to change that number to one that Windows 7 does not allow, it just defaults back to your actual MAC.

This is the reason the main block of MAC addresses for HomePass are 4E. There is also another issue with Atheros based chipsets that will change the first number in the first octet to something else.
