Hacking Does the firmware downgrader work with 3.3?

So if i install 3.3 with the homebrew channel already installed, can i use the downgrader to get a lower firmware? Because i want to trade wii's with my friend but he doesn't have the nintendo channel or the wiiware update.

He then told just about every site related to gaming about his thread on gbatemp and it's igniting flames around the world.
