anyway. they say an payout up to 20k.

any hacker will know they will never pay this much. and i guess no hacker would even give information to nintendo.

nintendo has his own developers, why dont they just try to hack their own system? (maybe because they dont think out of the box?)

i got my N3ds around 2/3 weeks ago, i was excited, but immidiatly dissapointed it had 11.1 firmware... because there wasnt any exploit yet(only hardmod and dsiware)

then only 2 days laters soundhax was released, i was stoked for having homebrew launcher, but still no cfw. and then a week later this fasthax came in.

isnt life wonderfull ? i think the hackers deserve more credit!

. . . That's why people don't update . . .
again silly the point of getting new hax entrypoints on the newest firmware is everyone can use it . . . as it stands now (and before 33c3) we already have/had cfw and the need to not update so we can access that but when hax work on the latest firmware . . . we dont want another inch what we want total access

Patching exploits isn't something you do in a day.
To properly close all holes, you'll need a team of security experts reverse engineer the exploits, even use them to potentially find other backdoors.
When everything is documented, you'd need to figure out a way to close to holes and make sure they can't be re-exploited.

This could take weeks if not a few months to do properly.
If Nintendo is going to bring out a patch every time a new exploit has been released (a la PSP) then they would divert costly resources to a never ending cat and mouse game that will only affect the legitimate user (constant updates and no new features etc)

constant updates and no new features etc
Isn't that what has been done since March 23rd, 2015, a.k.a 9.6?

Patching exploits takes time and resources.
Legitimate users are affected by it.
It's not the updates but it's also the online servers that get plagued by cheaters.

Preventing more systems from being exploited is the goal, and they can definitely plug the holes that we are currently using. It's not like the PSP where you can literally sign homebrew and the game is over. Sighax would still require NAND access, meaning if they can prevent us from getting it (fixing fasthax or safehax and fixing NFIRM downgrades would be likely things to happen eventually) they would essentially lock us down to finding new exploits or hardmodding.
Don't give them ideas, who knows if they aren't fake tempers themselves?

With all the new exploits and such, last I checked, Nintendo hasn't updated the 3DS since late October. Does Nintendo not care about people having CFW anymore?

Edit: To the moderators - this is the real thread, please don't delete this one.

LOL. Do you think Nintendo care about people having CFW ? :creep::rofl2:

They don't? CFW = Piracy, which makes them lose money. If they didn't care about CFW, why would they be patching it? At this time of writing, anybody can get almost every game on 3ds for free, wouldn't that make Nintendo want to fix it?

Until recently, Nintendo didn't have any reason to put out an update since the 11.2 update in October. I expect 11.3/12.0 will drop soon now that A9LH and Luma3DS are so easy to install on 11.2.

I do have a friend working at Nintendo UK, he tells me that they do know and monitor the advancements in the hacking community. He does tell me that all they can do is remote ban/brick consoles they know have hacked (ergo playing games before release or calling in and saying something like "I downloaded a game online and it won't install) trust me there are idiots out there. So yes. Nintendo care but the nature of these hacks kinda tie their hands up
