Homebrew Does moonshell support playlists?

I can't seem to find any references to it. I found one guy saying an old version did, nothing about the newest version. If it does support playlists, does it require all the mp3's be in the same folder together?

I think m3u is supported.
Just write one filename in one line then save it as .m3u

ok tried it out, it crashes moonshell which seems to be a common problem with people attempting to use m3u files.

Moonshell DOES support them (apparently), but the creator of the program is using some non-standard format, and has never documented it.

So if anyone can help, it'd be much appreciated

edit the playlist using notepad, it usually encode using XML coding (similar that how WEB pages are code to)

make sure that the files are not located to definite location.. e.g seeing a drive letter on every file address of the playlist. it must be like

\mp3\mysong.mp3

not

c:\mp3\mysong.mp3

somehow most playlist maker make that thing happend. Just create a playlist using WMP.. or something.

There was a post some time ago asking something similar - you can read it here - but AFAIK - there's been no prgress to HOW to make the playlists

EDIT: did a bit of Googling - and found this little snippit of info (refers to Moonshell v2.00 beta 6.1 though - but may be relevant for 2.1 etc)

Added support for WinAMP5 and WMP9 (check only) playlists....

....R + A play that can create a playlist of all songs played in the folder.
L + R + A play that can create a playlist of all songs played on the disk.

Possibly later versions of WinAMP5 & WMP make playlists differently or something

For using playlists, you MUST use relative paths, no absolute paths. Also, you CAN'T use ".." in your paths (e.g. /abc/d/../e).

This refers to m3u files in general:
The file is saved with the "M3U" or "m3u" filename extension, and - if edited in a text editor - must be encoded in the ANSI (Windows-1252) format in order to be understood by media players.

thanks, at the moment my lists are just plain lists of files. Will try making one with WMP and see if it's formatted any differently...

WMP uses an xml style list, modified it to make locations reletive, results in a crash as well, and it's in wpl format, which moonshell also seems to recognise, just doesn't work.

Moonshell 2.9 has playlist. They have to be in the same folder or you can just go to the folder and play the music and do whatever the F*ck you want on moonshell like reading something. To activate play list just press select or start(idk which one) and then it should be obvious on what to press next as it tells you.
