Hacking does 10.4 kill downgrade?

Why is there still not a sticky thread about how to distinct a emunand from systemnand?

The best way to see if the console is in systemnand and emunand is to have DIFFERENT DATE TIME in both systemnand and emunand.
Before the final button press for updating a console, the ONLY thing that can be used as identification for systemnand and emunand is the DATE TIME.
Use a time that is totally off for systemnand and current time for emunand.

This is the reason that people update their console accidently. They thought they are still in emunand. What does that folder even matter, basically with your method you can just use different profile name, which can be seen in the setting itself aswell. If the date time on the sysnand is set to be differently than the emunand, then the user knows whenever the console is in sysnand of emunand.

Or they could check if the emunand have like a RX-E, Rei, GW symbol in front of the version? I honestly think the date and time is more confusing.
Heck I changed my Emunands colors to make sure I'm in emunand and not sysnand.

Check your sd/microsd card in your 3ds to see if the nand backup is still on it.

I've been switching between sysNAND (9.2) and emuNAND (10.3) and have faced no problems so far.

I can easily tell if I'm on sysNAND or on emuNAND because my sysNAND Home Menu has no apps while the emuNAND has a plethora of them and the thumbnails are zoomed out at maximum.

And yeah, unfortunately for me, sleep mode doesn't evade the update. I suppose I'm supposed to permanently block Nintendo updates, right? Unfortunately, while on emuNAND a while ago, I was told that the system update was ready. I didn't do the update and was told that I can update in the settings later. Does this mean I'm in trouble? Lol.

Have Downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2 but my son have , unfortunately, updatet to 9.9 with triforce Heros, Browser is blocked (update), iron hax didn not work its say robbin read than error. so Home menu i cant enter for Downgrade or upgrade (to 10.3)

I have nand back up 10.3 and 9.2. Can ic update to 10.4 and than Play the backups up the 3ds to bekam 9-2 bzw 10..3 agine.

why people are updating their 3DS from sysnand ?

also , i was using gateway , now i am using RXtools ,now i am on RX 10.4 (also GW 10.4 )
the select button are disabled
if gateway released new update for the launcher , will i need to format my emunand? or just boot from the new launcher?

Once the new Gateway launcher is out, and you copy it to your sd card you will be able to boot normally again without formatting your emunand.

It is ideal to be on 10.3 when downgrading, issues have been reported for those who are between 9.3-10.2 rather than 10.3 when downgrading.

My nand's are linked. Using a custom theme (mostly) on my Emunand and my sysnand default. But i think thats a 4.4 think

You mean 10.3 Emunand backup and 9.2 sysnand backup?
Unless you have a hardmod you can't make a 10.3 (sys)NAND backup (correct me if i'm wrong!)
(Yes you can use a 10.3 EmuNAND to flash to your x.x sysnand, but i would not recommand that IF you have a 9.2 sys(NAND) backup)
