I used to. Got out of the game about 6-7 years ago and haven’t gotten back into it.

It can be a relaxing sport, depending on how you play and who you play with. Part of the reason I quit playing was because I’m a competitive person by nature and when I got where I couldn’t get better without practice taking a significant amount of time I got frustrated. Plus, I got bored. I’m not wealthy, so I wasn’t able to travel much to play and playing the same local courses got pretty tiresome after a while.

Then, when people found out that I golf for fun they would inevitably want to join for an afternoon game. Which was fine, but it usually ended up being more of an afternoon of “let’s see if I can drink 64 beers in 18 holes”. I don’t drink, so it was usually me giving a bunch of incredibly drunk obnoxious guys a ride home after an afternoon of dealing with drunk obnoxious guys and then getting phone calls from some of them the next day to take them to get their cars.

Yeah. I don’t miss golf. I’ll keep playing Golden Tee.

I've tried it, kind of liked it, and was sort of reasonable at it... but being as I'm pretty tall it made it unfeasibly expensive to get into (set of clubs was expensive enough, but extended clubs... forget it), and it caused me quite a few back pains too.

These days I suffice with Everybodys/Hotshots Golf and the Mario Golf titles.

PICKLEBALL?????
Yeah it's like ping pong meets tennis. Less than half the workout of tennis, but that's good because tennis is like running a marathon. The paddles and balls are cheap, and just a little wind can change the game quite a bit because they're basically wiffle balls. The courts are basically everywhere now too.

I only played golf back when I was in high school, they actually had golf for a gym class. Obviously it wasn’t a real golf course but it was still fun. The last time I played golf was Wii sports, maybe some other video game too. It might be fun to play again for fun but I don’t know if I want to pay to play golf.

Thinking of trying it as a relaxing sport (if it can be called a sport) as it looks somewhat interesting.

If there's any golfers here, I'd be curious on what they'd say.
I play disc golf.

Where I live it's more accessible than ball golf and cheaper too. You get to play a lot in the woods and a bit closer to nature I would think.
