On the other hand, even having the shittiest browser will open a multitude of possibilities.
Even if e.g. Gmail or Facebook do not render correctly or fast enough, someone will create a special version dedicated to 3DS, respecting its resolution and memory limitations.
3DS does not have a chat application ? You can still use a web chat, provided 3DS' browser supports AJAX... etc. etc .

Well, it'll be extremely convenient to say in the least

I WANT it to be good.
I EXPECT it to be bad. Compared to PC browsers anyway.

I expect it to be good. Its NetFront and from the trailers it looks far more impressive than the opera ones.

Hopefully they will have Flash support, together with YouTube 3D. Maybe they might even have such an app in the eShop, YouTube 3DS? Haha, who knows?

I have the feeling that this is the most likely the way it should be.

Pip'

I'll like it IF
It can run flash and/or java
Is in 3D
Is not horrible like the DSi one

I agree.
Not horrible is always a good thing.

Until the 3ds memory is present in good quantity and The browser is made by someone Opera or someone new this time say google chrome, Morzilla Firefox, et cetera, a good/ an awesome browser can be expected.

I don't. I believe:
- there will be no Flash nor HTML5 support (3DS is not powerful enough)
- it will only support a few most popular video streaming sites; initially there will be no Youtube 3D support
- for sites which do not have special mobile versions (like 0.facebook.com or m.gmail.com), it will be slow and painful to navigate
- as it has to work when games are suspended, it will only have access to a tiny portion of 3DS' memory, reducing it capabilities
wheres your proof?
tell me how powerful is the 3DS exactly?
tell me the cpu, gpu & ram speed.
as from i remember the developers saying. its close to the power of ps3.

3DS capable of running RE5 (a ps3/360 game)

but powers not a factor in browers, its your internet connection speed.
also the fact that the ps3 & 360 internet speed was 2.4GHz & the 3DS wifi speed is 2.4 GHz. im not expecting it to be any slower.

The browser's a new version of Netfront and the 3DS has 128 MB RAM.

I use a mobile browser for:
Email
eBuddy
News

My DSi XL already does all that for me really well so I am sure the 3DS browser will not disappoint me

I'm pretty sure we all understand the 3DS doesn't have near the power of the PS3. It was most likely a comparison for what they could do on a smaller screen, rather than some raw number. The 3DS can't run the ps3/360 version of RE5, but a trimmed version of the game running on their modified MT Framework for the 3DS is plausible, which can make it look like the original if it were shrunk down.

We do know the RAM speed, and it is quite speedy, clocked at 3.2GB/s (double the speed of DDR2). While we know the 3DS has 128MB of RAM, it appears that 96MB is reserved for 3DS games, and 32MB is reserved for the OS, which also includes the browser, as it was meant to run alongside a suspended game. Doesn't sound like a lot to work with, but maybe if the browser requires more, then it'll request that you close the game so it'll gain access to the remaining 96MB.

As a web developer, I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of nifty things can be done with the 3DS browser.

I think it's reasonable to expect that the browser will support XMLHttpRequest or something similar, as it's a pretty essential feature nowadays and not that complex to implement unlike...

Flash, which I have nothing but doubt for, but I don't really see it being an issue as Flash is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

Chromium is using 64MB of ram in my pc right now.
I have 10 tabs open.

Why do people think a browser needs 128MB of RAM?
All it's doing is showing text and images.
Flash obviously needs more, but if you have a single video open and nothing else 32MB is probably fine.
And I've not even factored in the fine-tuning nintendo would do to make a browser work better withint their console's limitations.
