Hacking Do we know what was the origin of that ban wave?

I remember a couple months ago, there was that front page news about a 3ds banwave, so i let my 3ds lie down for a while
Do we know what was the cause of that banwave yet? Ive been away from the 3ds scene for a while too

No not that one, it wasnt that much long ago, more around march or april i think

We don't know anything because Nintendo never released anything. Nintendo basically acts like it never happened and thus we are in the dark until they say something.

And do we know how to prevent our 3ds from being banned the same way?
Is the same precaution such as no cheat online, no modded rom online still are sufficent?

Actually I've been online with modded ROMs before to test what it would take to get banned. My 3DS wasn't banned for that, although I still won't suggest it.
