I just whant to know if any 3DS game (relased so far) has included a firmware update

Pretty sure it was confirmed on 3dbrew.org that they can have updates, not sure if any have had yet. (neimod looked at some cart dumps and saw that there was a place for an update partition or something like that)

I'm extremely curious about SpotPass though.

Imagine if flashcarts are really made (3DS ones)... Devs can make use of spotpass to update their games so that it won't work on the cart. Maybe? I don't know... Just a speculation.

umm if the BIG update is comming like less than 48 hours i would have to say , no there are no current games that have firmware updates , prob in future there will be games that will require you to update to current firmware to be able to play online, such as Black ops for wii will require you to update(the update only changes how the game works not the firmware of the system)

I can confirm that they can do; I bought Steel Diver a couple of days after getting my 3DS and it needed an update to run.
(I was away from any internet connection to update it myself at the time.)

Requiring an update is not the same as having the update on the game itself. Almost certainly the update will be available on newer game carts, there is no reason NOT to (unless their is a serious space constraint for certain games)

What if people don't have a wi-fi access point or internet? Then they can't play the game?
