No issues with it here. It did as you said when i opened my sky sd the first time (old format), so it did a full backup and restore and is working fine.

Win 8.1 x64 Pro, whatever the latest .net is (all up to date), sandisk extreme pro 16gb.

2.00b8

or

2.02b1??

I didn't have any issues with v2.00 either (apart from the game progress that I killed myself with my own stupidity, grrrr....). Also, there's an easier / faster way to 'fix' the SKY3DS in case of no games showing up or the LED blinking continuously. See my earlier post here.

Yup, that works for when the game doesn't show up. But in this case 2.00b8 was having formatting issues. It wouldn't even blink. And even if you switch around ROM sequence I couldn't get the cycle reset to work.

Reformatted and used 2.02b1 and now it works.

Worst case scenario is to go back to stable 1.06 and start all over again.

Oh, alright. So, if I am now on v2.00b, would you suggest I do the backup / restore routine again for 2.02b?

I would go ahead and load it up in 2.02b1. If you get any JIT errors or crash prompts. Close and backup again. Until you know you have a good backup of both GAMES and your SAVEDATA, then I would reformat using 2.02b1.

You shouldn't have too many issues if 2.00b8 was working for you. Otherwise, get rid of 2.00b8 and just use 2.02b1.

Hands down. Easiest answer. Move on with life...

But I do have concerns over how 2.00 was formatting. So to be safe, BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP, then follow reformatting instructions.

Be very careful that your mSD doesn't read as (FLOPPY DISK) in your partition software where it -SHOULD- say (MBR). That's a corrupt format. So go back to OP and be careful.

New version 2.02b1:

http://filetrip.net/dl?UVUa7Uzm1Y

Maybe fixed that error:
Change logs:
1. Tiny bugs fixed.
2. Added microSD card space management feature.
Note: You have to convert your old saved data on microSD card(DW1.06)
if any to the new DW2.02 format by the pop up window "Save backup file".
After the convert process completed, there will be message window forwards to you,
and then please follow as the instructions did to avoid damage or lost upon game save data.

I have the newest 2.02b1 the only thing that is dusturbing, that its dont show the game name, just the image name.

Did you use 2.00b8 at any point? If so, then your format of mSD is corrupt. This happened to me as well. Just because it works and is opening up in DW2.02 doesn't mean the mSD is formatted properly.

BACKUP GAMES
BACKUP SAVEDATA

Follow formatting instructions.

Use 2.02b1 to FORMAT with instead of 1.06.

Then restore all of the backups.

bump

Can we please bump or sticky this? Too many people are still using 2.0 and can't find this thread. Tired of digging threads to link.

Aw, man... I had the same problem problem with the image names turning up instead of the game names. Now, I'm just writing back my backup in v2.02b (still running as write), and still, only image names show up. Any way to remedy this or is it the guessing game for me?

Okay, I fixed it by replacing the setting.ini with the one from SKY3DS provided for the most recent template. Judging from the contents of the (new) setting.ini I also know what went wrong here.

Anyways, is there any way to check if the MSD is good now? There are no JIT errors or other problems now.

Also, somewhat unrelated, but is there any way to make a better setting.ini? The naming now is somewhat inconsistent. And, there's also a bug in v2.02b. You can't restore saves to games in reserve, error message is 'Save is for a different game'. It works when you first put the game in the upper list, though.
