Hacking do i need to downgrade again?

9.0 and 9.2 are very similar I think a 2-3 file difference my guess is it repaired 9.2 I would try opening the recovery menu if you can dont update, do a system format and see if everything is running smoothly first then try setting up CFW.

hold L+R+A+UP when you press the power button and keep holding them until the recovery menu comes up if it does just hit cancel.

Its just to make sure you can still access the menu if for some reason doing a system format bricks the system (it shouldn't) id rather have a 3DS on 10.4 instead of a doorstop know what I mean.

did the format, everything seems to be working alright, still shows 9.2 FW

Ok then your all good this is the most simple guide for CFW on a N3DS anyone has made yet if you want to setup rxTools once it supports 10.4 you can but for now use Reinand to get your feet wet good luck.

No its just not supported on rxTools yet we are waiting for a release but GW,Reinand, and Cakes beat them to the punch.

We are back again with another quick update! Here’s what’s new:

* Latest emunand support (10.4) for both o3ds and n3ds
* In-game menu fixed for certain games (Centipede)
* SAV backup and restore added again for CIA games and SaveDataFiler
* L button hex and decimal switch too fast fixed in exact cheat search

With the new firmware update we would like to STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST UPDATING your sysnand to any version higher than 10.3 (i.e. 10.4 or higher), as we will not be able to support sysnand firmware version 10.4 or higher anytime soon.

Currently there exist homebrew methods to downgrade from 10.3 to 9.2, allowing you to use your Gateway card already.
But the downgrade method is not recommended as it is error prone, dangerous and can lead to bricking.
We would like to provide our users with a more safe method, and this is one of the things we are working on.

This means you SHOULD NOT upgrade past 10.3, as you will miss the boat as they say.

That version no but the files needed are in the description it would be as simple as swapping them out.

alright, but he says that swap only get to 10.3, what about 10.4 there no possible way to get a working 10.4 emunand? or it doesn't matter at the moment Because there is no restriction on 10.3?

Just to clear a few things up for anyone reading this thread looking for answers, first things first if your downgrade fails DO NOT attempt to update back to 10.3, it is pointless and possibly dangerous (at least it makes the procedure a bit more dangerous) what causes most incomplete downgrades is not clearing the update nag first by going into recovery, others are from bad CIAs etc.... You can downgrade IN PLACE from the incomplete 9.2 downgrade... Also update-check says the NATIVE_FIRM is 9.2 on 9.0-9.2 because, really, 9.0, 9.1 and 9.2 all share the same NATIVE_FIRM.

tl;dr: clear the update nag before your attempt a downgrade, check your CIAs and if you get an incomplete downgrade simply try again without updating to 10.3, if your hax won't work install hax for the system version you attempted to downgrade to and try it again
