do i need a cover for my joy con rail?

when im out i like to take my switch and joycons detached to save space but after learning that you can fry it on the right joycon rail im scared of this happening

do i need like a rail cover if i want to continue doing this? or is it something I shouldnt even be worried about

As long as you don't short-circuit any of the pins with pin 4 by really really stupid accident, you are safe. Nothing can happen. Assuming you don't have bent paperclips that looks like a jig in your pocket xD
