Hacking Do 512MB+ roms still brick AKs?

A search told me that the last time this subject was touched was last year, so because new AKAIO versions have come out since then I felt the need to ask just to be sure.
So, well, do they, or did the new AKAIO releases fix that problem? Or maybe that doesn't have anything to do with AKAIO at all?
