Remember that new Dissidia entry announced a while back? Remember how, to the disdain of many, it was announced for arcade cabinets? Well, that's no longer the case now as Square-Enix have shared additional info. This new game will indeed to be making it's way to the PS4. However, expect that release to be at least a year after the game hits arcades in Japan this fall.

Other tidbts included Ramza from Final Fantasy Tactics being added to the roster, future updates to include extra content, and the development being jointly done with Team Ninja.

Uh..what?
But Square Enix producer Ichiro Hazama said that the game will be arcade-exclusive for at least one year before it’s ported.

The new Dissidia Final Fantasy announced for arcades in February is being developed by Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja using PlayStation 4 as its core system
It only says that PS4 is the core system of the Arcade machine and that they CAN port it after 1 year passed after the Arcade release. Doesn't say about a PS4 port nor that it will come to PS4.

uhm it does say that if it's going to be ported it will be for home consoles.
Also not porting it to PS4 when having a fully working game on PS4 based hardware is really stupid.

Yes, IF it gets ported. I think its too early to celebrate.
It wouldn't even really be a port. It's being developed for the PS4 and they're basically just shoving a PS4 into an arcade cabinet to run it. The only decision really comes from choosing whether or not to make the slight software tweaks that would be required to recognize traditional PS4 controller inputs over the arcade inputs, and then printing it to discs or releasing the game digitally. All in all, it would be very low effort and basically all profit. There is almost no reason not to release it for actual PS4's after due time has passed to profit from the arcade experience.

Yes, same for all other new arcade games. Sega Arcade machines are actually powered with Nvidia GPUs and Intel CPUs with Windows 8, doesn't mean the games will come to PC, its just that there's a way to bring it to PC.
