I'm not sure if I should post this here but backing up my save files.. can that be done safely?
I have almost finished rune factory 4 and I REALLY don't want my save to up and vanish if I try and write something else on here.
If someone can give me a step by step or helpful hits or anything about it before I try, thanks are in advance
As far as I know it's similpy a case of cycling through all your games (more or less) to put the save file onto the micro and then backing them up on diskwriter but is there a way I could sudden lose them? This whole card1, card 2 thing is worrying me

Btw the way what does this do?

If your game is marked as EEPROM YES, then as soon as you cycle the card and load up the next game on the list, the save content in the EEPROM is transferred to the microSD card and should be safely backed up on the computer. I've done this before: Saved the game, pressed blue button, waited for the next game to pop up, turned off the 3DS, and took out the card and backed up my save. The save seems to be legitimate since I can see the game's code in its header.

I don't know how EEPROM NO games work though with saves. As far as I understand, for those, saves are directly put onto the system's SD card, so it should be safe as soon as that happens. Could someone elaborate?

I found this quote while looking up saves and restoring

EEPROM-NO savedata isn't saved in the ROM but on the SD card of the 3DS. No matter how many times you backup the savedata from Sky3DS DiskWriter you have to match the headers to the savedata on the 3DS SD card.

Eveytime you install/re-install an EEPROM-NO game onto the Sky3DS the template resets the savedata and you have to start all over again.

Without GW you really can't fix this.

I have even tried using PowerSaves Pro and it's the Sky3DS template file. Or it will just read CORRUPTED SAVEDATA and you'll have to restart all over anhyhow.

So with the new microSD in the Sky3DS, it's reading them as all new installs.

You'll have to go onto the SD card of your 3DS and find the savedata and copy them to your PC and then open them up in a savedata editor and find the headers and copy the headers to the Sky3DS template so the Sky3DS tells the 3DS that it's the "same game".

Yeah, I know, you used the same files on the Sky3DS microSD, So why would it reset? New SD means Sky3DS has to re-attach the template.

Even if you go get the old SD you cleared it and broke the template connection.

EEPROM-YES savedata will work without any problem because it writes to the Sky3DS ROM.

Did you OPTIMIZE? Try restoring the Diskwriter's OPTIMIZE backup file. Otherwise... yeah.

Next time, don't be so hasty and hold onto the old SD until you know the new one works.

EDIT: I don't really understand this all that much though either..

Then I suppose for EEPROM-NO games, before we do anything with the Sky3DS, we take out the system SD card and back up the save files in there first. Good to know, thanks!

Be sure to individually right-click the EEPROM-YES games you want to back up the save of in DiskWriter and choose that option. There is a batch backup option under the File menu, but I recall seeing someone said that it expects the list of games in the Sky3DS to remain the same; otherwise some corrupting might happen.

I'm a little to scared to even check the microsd in case that in itself effects anything. I just can't lose my SAVESS!!

It's probably a good idea to finish the game fully to your enjoyment before you do some experimenting. As long as the cart is not removed from the 3DS, the game saves should be intact.

I would like a Predator game "Kill Team" it takes place in the Jungle of the first movie, your team is sent to hunt the predator, using current tech drones and a trained team. Set traps use strategy to hunt and trap or kill the predator.

I went today and looked at a motorcycle someone was selling. I get there and the battery on it was dead, so the guy grabbed a battery charger and hooked it up. He plugged it into the wall, and the motorcycle sparked and started smoking. Come to find out the bike uses a 6 volt battery and the guy had the charger set to 12v. I said sorry to the dude and walked away. I felt bad for him tho.
