Can someone explain why dios mios wouldn't work for Wii U? I mean it doesn't need memory cards with the no more memory feature. And for controller ports, we can use an adapter like this:

Also it wouldn't have the verification check that devolution has. And I'm sorry if this has been answered already.

Dios Mios, as the name already implies, is a replacement for the MIOS, which is just not available on the WiiU along with all the other system files required for gamecube stuff to work (there might be some important chip missing as well for this, but I don't know for sure, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). If your argument is now that tueidj got devolution running on the WiiU, well that's a whole different story since devolution does not depend on the MIOS. These are the basics why Dios Mios does not work on the WiiU, but maybe someone else will come and have a better explanation.

"Tuesday I DJ" is how I rememmber Tueidj's name :P
I remember it because for a year I added it after the word "hate" so many times that it stuck in my memory.

I like him now (and certainly respect him), but we didn't get along when I first joined GBAtemp.

if anyone wants them i found some older versions dm on my computer i have 1.0 1.3 and r21 i think thats it but ill look some more later
I still have DML r58 :p

As a guy who tested Devolution several times I will say that it IS indeed better than Dios Mios and may have a better future if it's not for the anti-piracy thing, the loading times are impressive and the compatibility is much better, also there are patches to increease performance in games that ran slow on the original hardware, every time I use it I wonder why I'm not using it for all my rightfully owned games then I remember the size issue and all the hustle, but I like how in DM(L) there's a PadHook, we need that in QuadForce and Devo!

Some games work shrunken and tueidj has said he does not like the padhook from the control of GC, instead it will from the Wiimote.

what if the wiimote was out of batteries? I really wish for a hack that makes it possible to choose from the Wii main menu using a GC controller, the force of using batteries on wiimote really turned me off the wii when it first came out, at least with the PS3 you can charge the controller while playing if needed and it lasts for long hours of gameplay!

I really respect tueidj as a programmer but I still don't get the reason why lock Devo like that?

but without batteries in the wiimote it would be hard to get INTO the app without batteries in the wiimote wouldn't it?

I agree with the whole battery thing, I have like the best rechargeable Duracell batteries and the Wiimote eats them like nothing else, even a CD back in the day wouldn't eat my batteries this fast.

I think he should remove the disc verification on the WiiU, though I doubt he do it, just hope it's not somehow exotic, or requiring other hardware than the WiiU, SD card or USB storage device.

The only way I can see is we would have to verify the games on backward compatible Wii's, then remove the usb hard drive from it and plug it into the Wii U to play the games.

The problem with copying/pasting the logged DRM files (Devolution dumps encrypted files from the games that have to be on the HDD and are rendered invalid if they're copied/moved and the game needs to be reverified. He's not going to do it, he'll only keep the Wii U version to himself.
