No, that's the point . It's a problem with some HDTV's. This is why Tantric's emulators hide the "original" video mode (240p) when it detects that the Wii is connected through component video cables. If Megaman works for a majority of others, is there just something wrong with my Wii then? Because other games work just fine with Dios Mios Lite. It is just this one that gives me trouble.
*sigh*
Does it not happen with the system menu, thus making it a DIOS MIOS compatibility problem and not just a tv compatibility problem?
CRTs don't have that issue as all can display native 240p/240i, but Capcom butchered the port by writing the emulators in 240p resolution (at least I think they're emulated), and very few HDTVs display the game without pricey third-part upscaling devices, which is trivial to get just for one problematic game. Too bad there's no way to force the game to display in 480i/480p. Congrats Capcom, for making a crappy port.megaman x collection works fine here.. ntsc, dm 2.0 on a CRT tv
Right, so it has nothing to do with DIOS MIOS and shouldn't be on the compatibility list - the game is being executed exactly the same as a retail copy launched from the system menu.Whether you launch it via the System Menu or Dios Mios (Lite), it never displays on a majority of HDTVs properly. Capcom really screwed up big time.
This is idiotic. HDTVs weren't common when the port was made, if they had used 480i mode they would have had a bunch of angry fans saying the opposite - that they had screwed up because it didn't use the original video mode. Saying they screwed up because it's not compatible with today's technology is like saying Nintendo screwed up because the NES and SNES used 240p. Stop blaming other people for your TV's crappy component compatibility.CRTs don't have that issue as all can display native 240p/240i, but Capcom butchered the port by writing the emulators in 240p resolution (at least I think they're emulated), and very few HDTVs display the game without pricey third-part upscaling devices, which is trivial to get just for one problematic game. Weird, my Western Digital My Passport 500GB works perfectly. Maybe you're just using the wrong brand.
Have you tried another USB device, like a USB stick? Just trying to figure out if it is your drive or drive controller that is causing the incompatibility.Wii gaming is fine but for GC gaming I always get a black screen, not even the splash screen shows up so I went back to DML 2.2, I so wanna get USB support to work for me I'm sick of having to copy each game from the HDD to the SD everytime I wanna play something!
