I got "fatal error apploader size is zero!" too.

Loading BC for GameCubeDML: Loading game /games/TALES OF SYMPHONIA 1 [GQSEAF]/game.iso
DIP:[/games/TALEg OF SYMPHONIA 1 [GQSEAF]/game.isosys/boot.bin] Failed to open!
Failed to open:"/games/TALEg OF SYMPHONIA 1 [GQSEAF]/game.iso" fres:5

I dumped my game with USBLoaderGX, so I don't have the /sys/ folder
Is that needed for that game?
It seems it's trying to access it, but the path is wrong.

edit:
Oh, and I'm launching the game with GX, so maybe it's only a GX problem.

mario sunshine works fine for me as well.

All i did was take the games off the sd card and transferred them to my hard drive.

I'm on real nand.
with Wind Waker it didn't try to open the sys folder (I don't have it either) and the game worked fine.

I can post full log if required.

Edit:
I forgot to put the disc in the drive.
It's working fine now :)

First off, I'd like to shout-out a great big "Thank You!" to Crediar, and anyone who helped to make this possible! ^_^
Secondly, I can't seem to get it to boot, after installing it.
I've tried the DM Booter, the USB Loader GX mod, and even tried booting retail discs while it's installed. I've even tried it on two Wii's.
No luck through any of the above, and I simply get a black screen after selecting a game.

I'm using Composite Cables, so that shouldn't be an issue, correct?
So, does anyone have any ideas? I've been following this thread, and read most (if not all of it) and no one appears
to have the same issue, (or got it resolved).

Thanks!

I just updated DIOS-MIOS Booter to SVN r23, changes:

-added DIOS-MIOS (Lite) version display (thanks giantpune
for the AHBPROT magic patches for NAND access)
-forcing video mode now, may helps some games boot
-moved copy and delete game into new submenu, easier to handle

Black Screen usually means unsupported Harddisk.

Great!

It is said yes, but many report it doesn't work.

Did you try from Game-Channel is system-menu, or from a Loader? It should work when loading retail disc from Loader.

I get a "fatal error apploader size is zero!" error while trying to run SSBM.

Here's my config :
  • HDD : 320 GB Western Digital. 3 partitions, two primaries and one logical. The one storing the Wii and GC games is FAT32 with 32Kb cluster size. It's the model released before this one.
  • USB Loader GX : I have downloaded the latest release by Cyan (r1191). Didn't change any setting. It plays all my Wii games correctly.
  • Latest DIOS MIOS release.
Does anyone know what's going on?

For those who manage to play GC games, you should post your set-up, it may help others.

DM: Latest (2.0 Update 2)
Loader: DM Booter rev22, USB Loader GX rev1191
HDD: CN-Memory USB 3 HDD (contains Samsung Harddisk with CN-Memory Case/USB-Controller), FAT32 16kb Cluster-Size (didn't want to re-format as 32kb)

DM Settings.
LED activity (to see if it still does anything)

Game Settings:
Zelda CE (PAL): Video Mode PAL 60Hz (else black screen after game-selection)

wait. will a fat32 partition with 64kb clusters work?
No and I don't think it will ever be supported.
You can use Paragon Hard Disk Manager Server 11 to convert your cluster size so you don't have to back anything up or re format your drive.
There may be a couple other programs that do it but this is the one I know of.
I have used this program to convert cluster size's over 10 times and have used it over 100 times for other uses with never a problem.

So the originally planned DIOS MIOS has finally been released huh? Im still using a WBFS formatted hard drive as I find no reason to format to FAT32 as of yet.

Do the Loaders like GX and CFG support the original DM
As everyone else has told you plenty of times, switch to Fat32.

NTFS will never be supported either by the way.
