here is A retool of the tranforming gc channel, it's a pain in the ass to do. i have the channel icon real nice, but the main splash screen is the problem i'm having.( after playing with it, can't tell if it's the graphics or the way it's supposed to look do to the brtyl(?) file.) so i'll still work on it. even after finding out the hardway, that once it finishes the final gc look the banner goes backwardes.( a- h then h-c.)
http://www.mediafire...l4i9w358ffo1s8t
Is this the same, as the other one or had there been some additions?

I think the splash screen needs a complete overhaul and replaced with a more fluid and smooth animation of the NGC Bootscreen. I did originally have a channel that did run smoothly, but it was buggy and led to that brick, when either + or - was pressed on the splash screen.
the only thing i added an re did is the icon (on main menu) has the background, instead of just being black. the cube i made a darker purple instead of the blue. an added dml instead of nintendo. i had it real nice, but due to the fact i didn't know when it got to the end of the sequence of the tpls. it startes to go backwards to the starting tpl.( were dml appears).also the background for the splash is a pain, cause if i remove the small background thats in the tpl, it looks worse then if i leave it in.
but if you could send or link me tothe onethats more fluid. then this one. i'll see what i can do with it an this one.
thanks in advance LWaresS87. no disrespect when i said lwarez. :)

Normally this isn't possible because on Wii you can't go back to the Wii menu in Gamecube mode, however the team added a cool feature that works in r58 and up, just press R+Z+Start on the GC controller "Player 1" and it'll reset your Wii, simple as that, however there are some games that still don't work like that such as Luigi's Mansion!
Interesting, I thought that was just a soft reset and brought you back to the beginning of the same Gamecube game similar to the reset button on the original Gamecube. (I haven't gotten around to trying it myself, though).
I'm not sure if soft reset is even possible, though it would be cool, if USB Loader can't soft reset Wii games I'm not sure if Gamecube could!
Finally occurred to me to check this out so I thought I'd mention it. I only tried with Wind Waker and Mario Sunshine so it's by no means complete but It looks like the reset button does SOMEWHAT work with DML v1.x. With both games when you push the button you can tell that the game received the soft reset command and performs it's little animation before resetting. (LoZ:WW fades black and Sunshine has a sort of a diamond shape that closes in on the screen leaving it black.) The only problem is that neither one actually starts over like they do with a retail disk and a clean MIOS. LoZ just freezes and Mario puts up a "Error, read the manual." message. (The last time I hit "reset" on an old DML revision it just turned off the Wii like the power button.). I also tried out the first controller button combination and to my pleasant surprise it effectively reset the Wii completely sending me back to the system menu (Which is what I usually hope to do when I reset it.).

Edit : come to think of it, I didn't test the reset button out with any retail disks but with the Nintendo code removed I assume there would no longer be any difference. The button combination seems to work fine, though, with real disks as well. I never use the reset button anyhow.

I must say I don't think I ever tried hitting the reset button on Wii at all "except when I wanna boot Priloader which is very rarely" but I'm glad you brought that up because I wanted to fix my old comment after doing some testing recently, using the new DML I can now reset Luigi's Mansion along with every other GC game, including retail disks too!

Also the new USB Loader revisions seem to do soft reset on Wii games fine, though some games take a bit longer to boot than when you launch them from the loader, some options might be gone as well like for example in Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary since I don't have an HD TV it works with 4:3 by default except the game has a built in 16:9 screen by default so it's a little stretched for me to seen clearly, I set it to boot with 16:9 in USB Loader and now when I boot the game it works in 16:9 but if I hit the reset button from the menu, it takes a little longer to boot the game and when it does it's back to 4:3!

Edit: byw how did you get disks to run? I hope it's not Wiiflow because I didn't like this loader tbh, is there any "simpler" loader to allow booting from disks?

Edit 2: Also anyone with DML 1.2+ (i.e. GCLoader) and has the ability to run retail disks, can confirm if games like Phantasy Star Online, which doesn't work on DML yet, can work with a disk inserted or not?

Just to let everyone know, I have added a 480P section to the compatibility list now that DML >= 1.2 has a force 480P mode.

Hey guys. Recently added Animal Crossing and Starfox Assualt to my SD card. I grabbed a recent version of wiiflow mod about a week ago so I could load games from a nice looking launcher.

Problem though, is that pressing play on a game such as Starfox simply load Super Mario Sunshine. No matter what game I chose sunshine loads automagically.

Any ideas?

That might be something you need to take up with the guys back at the WiiFlow thread but have you tried DML Booter to see if it does the same on there. That way you'd know if it was a DML problem or a WiiFlow problem.

Edit : Also, you say about a week ago you got it ... There have been a lot of improvements in the last week. I think DML 1.2 support was added right around a week ago. You might wanna update.

Unfortunately, yes. It was WiiFlow-mod. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by simpler as simpler controls, interface, installation, etc. but really I shouldn't even ask becasue it's been a LONG time since I've used any other loader. I'd say it would be a nice addon feature to DML Booter (but it's not a feature yet. :( )

As mentioned, anyone else willing to do a little testing and report back? Would be interesting to know.

I just updated to DMLr1.3[MIOS-v10].wad because I wanted to see if zelda collectors edition would work. And now no game will load. When I start a game the system shuts down. It didn't do that before. I was previously using version DMLr58[MIOSv10].wad. Can anyone help?

The games loaded fine in DML booter. I'll go update my Wiiflow-mod.

Unfortunately, yes.

Oh well that sucks, the only time I tried Wiiflow I didn't like it, with all respect to everyone who does, not only did it ask for a specific cios which I didn't have but even when I got it working I noticed it's slow and full of unnecessary effects, I always take performance over nice looking which is why I didn't like Windows Vista when it came out, is there any other "simple" software that allows you to run GC disks with DML 1.3?

What loader are you using? In some loader like USB Loader GX you may have to change the settings to "no disk = on" to allow the games to run!

Besides usb loaders the only other "simple" way to launch dml is through a forwader.there are plenty on this thread.
here is one that i did last night, stayed up till 12, went backto the basics, fixed the splash but kept the opening icon. i like it to fit next to my disc channel, so they match in the animation. http://www.mediafire.com/?km1hf1jti940w0c
as far as on my end it's not locking the wii up when you do the -/+ when trying to look at channels. an is a lot more fluid an cleaner.

Does it run disks though? :O I'm using USB Loader GX R1156 and NeoGamma R9 beta 56 and they work fine with DML, just loading original GC disks is the issue!

You can try the latest CFG USB Loader (mod r31 or r31 beta).
I can use them to load my original GC disks. (DML v1.3)

I got the link and I'll try it tomorrow morning and get back to you on this :)

Original and backup disks as well...

Back up disks as well, huh? can you confirm this cause off my testing it seems to work but then I got laughed at ^^;

Backup disc support is removed in the new DML loader, so it may works because you have some kind of modchip?

Hello everyone!
I don't know if anyone had this problem:
While trying to boot Skies of Arcadia with DML 1.3 (pal version, which bootes nicely with r52, last time i've tried) I get a screen saying Invalid TV Format and a series of number and a reference to a error in "gp_check.c"
I've tried all the tv format settings in the loaders (i've tried latest cfg mod, Wiiflow mod and DML booter) but to no avail. All the other games i've got handy seem to run nicely in DML 1.3
My wii is connected through component cables...is that the reason? In r52 it booted perfectly with the same setup.
Any ideas?

Otenis,I have exactly the same problem.Actually, not only PAL SoA is no longer working but also PAL BG&E,PoP WW.
Also, when I patch PAL Mario Sunshine and WarioWorld to run in PAL 480p,the screen is not displayed in the center anymore...Has anyone found a solution?

It's enough to know it isn't just me. I suppose it's growing pains from the new GCloader implementation.
(but if there is a fix, lemme know :P)
Anyways, cheers to Crediar for the awesome work.

Oh dear! I will remove DML1.3 now. I can't even run my GC discs anymore. Too bad.
