Added a donation button to the first post to make it easier for you to show your support in the ongoing DML development.

Remember, when it urges you to get an issue removed in DML note it in your donation mail.

Thanks for your support.

Speaking of donations, if crediar would have just released DML himself on GBAtemp and provided a donation link, then I'm sure he would have made much more money than he did with selling the source. And most likely he would still be active in the development. The whole situation is just too unfortunate.

is crediar no longer working on dml or something

Well, according to him, r44 was his last commit for the time being: http://code.google.com/p/dios-mios-lite-source-project/source/detail?r=44

Operative phrase highlighted.

Yes, but you have to take into account, that he retired from the Wii scene last year (and came back this year for a short period of time for whatever reason). His twitter still says inactive btw.

I just had an idea.
As far as I understand the issue,GC MC get corrupted only when you try to boot an another region game.As far as you don't,your MC is safe.
I am aware about the DML NMM mod which lets you save your games in the SD card. But,what about to be able to choose it manually as an option for the games we want?
For example,in a new loader version,in the game options screen we could manually choose if the NMM is enabled or not.
What do you think? Is it even possible?

Possible, yeah. It could be done right now. Install one version of DML to one IOS slot, another version to another slot (one version with NMM, other without), have loader prompt whether you want NMM or not, load the relevant IOS (yeah, DML will probably work installed as an IOS - haven't tried it, but I think someone else did and it worked). In future versions of DML, maybe it'd be integrated into one version of DML with some way of loader enabling/disabling NMM on-the-fly.

I have savegames from both PAL and NTSC games and I have no problem with my MC

How do I play gc pal games on my wii ntsc console. If I try alll I get is a black screen and I see that most persons can play games from different regions with no problems.

So,is it a game-specific bug?

I wonder if we can make a list with games that corrupt memory cards.

P.S Has anyone tried Baten Kaitos Origins with a PAL Wii yet?

MCs are formatted for character encoding--Japanese or Latinate. So it's fine to keep a bunch of North American saves on the same card as saves from European games, but Japanese games are probably a bad idea.

Many will happily read and write to a Latin-formatted card (with mojibake garbage files that will nonetheless work as long as your region remains the same--but which won't work on a real Japanese console) but some games will refuse to write to a western-region card and ask to format it before they'll write. Of course, they'll be asking in Japanese, so unless you can read it, you won't know until after you agree.

Right now I'm not aware of any real solution for DML users: if you like you can use AnyRegionChanger to set your region to Japan every time you want to play a Japanese game and use a separate, Japanese-formatted card to save your games--these will write correctly and never need to format your card, and will work on real Japanese consoles. But you'll have to switch your region back every time you play a western game, as they'll be trying to read them from a Japanese-formatted card otherwise.

If you play a lot of Japanese games, it might be worthwhile to put in a donation with a request for DML to do some kind of region-handling in order to solve the formatting issue without a great deal of manual region switching. You'll probably always need two memory cards (or a swank dual-sided card like the "256MB" models on eBay) but it's likely possible to solve system font and save issues that way.

nmm still has lots of problems at the moment. dont expect it to work with most games.
I was going to post my log file from after playing Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (PAL), as it's fine creating saves... but, when you try to save your game... The console switches itself off instantly.

Played up to Forsaken Fortress using Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker (PAL) and I was using DMLr44 (with NMM) when I did this (Other Console Specifications in Signature, as always).

Just to add... I love the unique feature when the blue LED flashes, when it accesses the SD Card through NMM.

Hi there. Does the NMM Version have ocarina codes enabled? Thx.

Nvermind. I dunno, but almost every games doesn't work for me on different revisions, for example Mario Kart or Luigis Mansion. Luigis Mansion gives me a green Screen, then black screen and on Mario Kart you hear Mario screaming NIIIIIIIIIIIIINTENDOOOOOOOO and then black screen of death... Smash Bros the same, Fire Emblem too. Only game that's been working is Skies of ArcadiacDunno what to do here, I've gone through the tutorial and used the isos on DiscEx by dropping them on the .exe
