Please post the log. Delete it 1st, then try again, so the log only contains the data for this test.

>_> I deleted it but now it won't write it again...

I've been trying for a while now and the log is not showing up.

Sorry, I'm new at this so bear with me.
I followed all instructions and I've got everything set up. I'm putting all my games converted with discx to the /games directory on my sd card. When neogama stars it finds only one game while I have 10 more in there which I created in the same procedure. Anyone has any idea why is this happening?

Thank you.

A saves folder keeps being created in my SD root. I don't have NMM, and I didn't compile a custom version with the NMM code included. It's being saved to my GC memory card as well, so that's not a problem. I'm just wondering why it does that.

I also noticed when I start Wind Waker, I'm not prompted to switch to progressive scan (it does that using the original disc), but rather just stay in 480i as if I had composite cables. I've tried the latest versions of NeoGamma and postLoader.

Hey guys,
I wanted to start off by thanking you so much for making the amount of progress you have on this project. The disc drive in my wii has been broken for years, leaving gamecube games to be unplayable, and only just now that this progess has been made have I been able to finally play some of my favourite games again.
Out of curiosity though, I know that audio streaming in audio streaming games does not work at the moment, but will it ever be possible to fix that issue? Or is it just something that's impossible to tackle akin to loading from a usb HDD? Regardless of whether or not it does or doesn't get to a fix, I was just curious about the current improvements the project is shooting towards.
Aside from that, I've only had problems with a couple of titles so far and I've been very pleased by the impressive compatibility you've managed to reach with the gamecube's library.
I hope the project continues to progress as wonderfully as it has so far, thanks so much to everyone who's been working on it to finally making discless gamecube loading a reality.

Ok, here is my report after getting everything up and running.
My hardware: Wii 4.3U
32GB, Class 10 SD Card.
Homebrew Channel Version: 1.0.8
Software:
DML : r21
DiscEx: v0.8
Neogama: Beta56
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have tested all my gamecube games and i will separate them as playable and unplayable. All my games are NTSC.
I have also reviewed the game compatibility list in this site.
Here are also some definitions:
Choppy - means that the game freezes and then continues every second. This includes the sound. The sound stops and continues every second.

Playable Games:
  1. Turok revolution - There is a lag in this game, it's playable and the lag doesn't annoy you too much
  2. Splinter Cell - Good speed. Nothing extraordinary.
  3. Ghost recon 2 - excellent gameplay. No issues at all.
  4. Hitman 2 silent assassin - Great gameplay. No issues.
  5. Prince of Persia Sands of Time - good gameplay, minor delays.
  6. Resident Evil 4 - good gameplay, some choppiness, always choppy in movie scenes.
  7. Spartan total warrior - great gameplay but no sound on some scenes
  8. legend of Zelda wind waker – excellent gameplay
  9. Legend of Zelda twilight princes - good gameplay, slow on scene changes, sometimes freezes. The freeze happens when there’s a lot going on the screen. Kind of disappointed since I’m a zelda fan.
  10. legend of Zelda collector’s edition - great game play, no issues
  11. legend of zelda four swords - good gameplay, no issues.
  12. Final fantasy Chrystal chronicles – excellent gameplay.
  13. Prince of Persia warrior within - playable , some slowness and choppiness sometimes, not great
  14. Lord of the Ring two towers – excellent gameplay.
Un playable games:
  1. Geist - can’t load game. Green or black screen when the game starts.
  2. Splinter cell chaos theory - an error has occurred. turn gamecube off.
  3. Enter the matrix - sound beeps, game freezes 1 sec then continues, every 5 sec. Very choppy.
  4. Eternal darkness - choppy, freezes.
  5. Luigi’s mansion - freezes at 'press start'.
  6. Metal Gear Solid - Game freezes every 2 seconds. Very choppy.
  7. Metroid prime 2 echoes - does not load. black screen
  8. Metroid prime - does not load. black screen
  9. Viewtiful joe - huge lag.
  10. Medal of honor - an error has ocurred.
  11. hunter the reckoning - choppy / freezes every sec
  12. Mortal Kombat deadly alliance - choppy then freezes.
  13. Prince of Persia two thrones – choppy, freezes in gameplay
  14. Lord of the ring return of the king - very choppy
  15. splinter cell double agent - very choppy
  16. splinter cell pandora tomorrow - very choppy
Total : 30 Games.
Playable: 14 games
Unplayable: 16 games
Despite the fact that I can’t play more then 50% of my games, this project is a huge success compared to the Dolphin emulator where I can’t play any of my games.
So, at this point I have some questions for the developers:
  1. If at any point, game compatibility increases which programs should I update: a) discex b) DML c) or Neogama (I’m hoping it’s not discex)?
  2. How can I contribute to this project? My profession in IT, is software packaging or reverse engineering an install package. So, even though I’m a noob in Wii hacking, the concepts in software design are universal.

Thank you.

I got a wii with a broken disc drive at my parents house and tried DML. Gave a disc error. Pretty sure the drive itself works and the laser just fails to read the disc

Use Wiiflow or Postloader, they don't init the drive, you just need to have a disc inserted is all.

quick question, is there a reason im only allowed one game on the sd card at a time?
i have a 16gb sdhc card, and if i put more than one game on, it only shows the first one.....thx in advance

scroll left and right with the dpad in the gc game selection menu therefore you will be able to see the other games you have stored in your sd card

Nice going, man. Good to see you're keeping track of things. It might be a good idea to add it to the compatibility chart. :)

Thus far, most of the progress is on DML, so chances are it'll be that. As for what you can do...I dunno. If nobody of the devs answers here, you may want to send a message to obcd or overjoy (I had a good deal testing games for them when neek2o was in the early stages). They may know something to do for you. :)

Thanks.
I am pretty sure there are many details behind this project, but are doable. Personally i envision one product that doesn't depend on other products to work while executing all capabilities flawlessly.
I know that GameCube is limited in IO ports (hence no USB support) and i know that it has a modem (which the manufacturer limited to 10MB instead of 100MB) so the SD option (average read speed on class 10 card is about 25MB sec) is great now. That's why some of my games run perfectly. But others don't.
That's where the details come in, and that's what I’d like to know.

Im running a 32GB class 10 SDHC card with dml r21 and i made sure to format the sd with 64kb clusters. Most of the games on the compatibility list that are listed as not working, work perfect for me. Engert many of the games u say dont work for you work for me like eternal darkness, metal gear solid, viewtuifal joe 1&2 and both metroid boot up but just suffer from in game stuttering. I suggest you format your sd card to 64kb clusters and makes sure you have a clean v6 BC installed. This version of DML is outstanding.

Any thoughts on this?

I will try your suggestion and report back. If it does make a huge difference, I think it should be noted at the beginning of this topic.
Also one more question, what's a BC?

It's something the Wii uses. You can easily download it from ModMii.
