Help anyone I can't get this to work no matter what I do.

I am using Postloader from real Nand to try and boot, Postloader sees the game no problem I run it the DVD drive flashes and then the system powers off. This is a white EU launch wii that has been hacked from the days of the twilight princess currently running 4.3 system menu and cIOSx d2x v7 along with Configurale USB loader.

Things that I have tried

DML both r19 and r21 from ModMii and as per FIX94 tutorial all of course at different times loaded to Wii using MMM which reports installation success
2 Different Gamecube games both in compatibility list as OK converted using DiscEX with all combinations of -c -a and no switch
Several different SD cards of varying sizes and speeds all of which have functioned correctly with Wii for other purposes
Checked Wii sees Gamecube pad and checked it works correctly in homebrew channel and postloader
Checked Wii system sees Gamecube Memory card and emptied just in case
Several Original Wii Discs in the drive when launching

I am going to try disabling all hacks in priiloader to see if that makes any difference but if that doesn't work I am out of ideas :( so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you sure your drive works? thats all i can think of as the issue.

i doubt it will make a difference but try DML r12. try installing a fresh BC downloaded from NUS downloader or ModMii. not sure if it will help but it cannot hurt.

Great idea worked perfectly hadn't thought of that.

Thanks for your help you are a hero :D
I haven't though at all about it if all people got a clean BC, I'll add it to my tutorial ;)

I can't get it to work properly...
I installed DMLr21, used DiscEx -c on a Wind Waker ISO (whose CRC matches the one on redump.org).

After several attempts to make it work on neogamma(I was getting a black screen), I tried on Postloader and had the same problem.
So, I decided to update BC(I was using v5). Installed v6, same problem.
Tried with DML debug to see if I could figure the problem by looking at the logs, but all I have got on them was some hexadecimal addresses...
I downloaded the Wiiflow mod and decided to try it, and the game did boot!
It was working perfectly.
After playing for about 5 minutes I turned my Wii off.

Half an hour later, decided to install the non-debug DML and try it, but Wiiflow doesn't boot it anymore, and neither does Postloader or Neogamma.
Installed the debug DML again, but it also doesn't work anymore...

Hi, you could try to rename the "saves" folder on your sd to something else. For me wind waker works fine but I only use the debug version.

...ok this is odd..
I deleted that save folder.
Now, it works on Wiiflow only. And only if I open it with a forwarder channel. If I open it on HBC, the game doesn't boot, all I get is a black screen. I don't have a forwarder for neogamma or postloader, so I can't test if it is the HBC that is causing problems for both, but they still don't work. In fact, they don't even create that save folder.
Does that make any sense?

So I just realized that the newer wii's do not have GC abilities. I got a new blue wii and it does not have the memory card or controller ports on it. I tried this anyway to see if the classic controller would work. The game does boot just fine, but the wii remote will not connect to the system for me to use the classic controller, so I am stuck.

I can't believe they removed the GC support in the newer wii's.

I'm surprised they left in MIOS support. I'm curious what happens when if you put a Gamecube game in one of these new Wii's; does it still boot? I don't think it is possible to implement Wiimote support into a MIOS or get Gamecube games to recognize it as a Gamecube controller.

Probably impossible. But i wonder if it will work if someone takes gamecube controller and memory card ports hardware from an old wii and puts them in a new one. I saw in some hardware stripdown of the new wiis that they still have the plastic slots for the hardware for the ports

Edit : oh what's up deak just realized it was you posting haha

My original GC games are totally scratched up and ive only got like 2 so it wont even read them, I only have my Wind Waker backup and thats all so I am unable to test that. The newer wii's may have had the MIOS removed but the ability to install MIOS is still there? I did not check to see if it was missing before soft modding the wii.

Ha ha yea its me, HI :) That could be possible if I had access to a Wii that was broken.

I do have another older Wii though so I can still play my GC game, just sucks because I wanted to play on the Wii in my room from the comfort of my bed. I may just have to move both wii's to my room and switch off between the 2.

Stop me if I'm asking a stupid question, but what exactly is a "BC"?

(I've checked the tutorial, but aside from "clean it with this wad-creating batch file, it doesn't say much)

EDIT: hmm...I've found this page. Which might explain some problem I was having with another emulated nand (US instead of PAL). Is a BC region-free?

Nobody really knows what it is lol, something important for gamecube booting, without a proper one its not possible to play gamecube.

If they didn't have MIOS installed on them, it would simply prompt you to install an update the first time you tried to play any Wii game and install it from there anyway. So yeah, they all come with MIOS preinstalled. There is zero difference software wise. However the disc drive in the new wiis will reject the smaller GC discs and simply spit them out if you try to insert one, so it can't be loaded normally.
