Graphically/performance-wise the switch's hardware is holding back alot of these new games potential. This is a great change in the main pokemon games thanks to Arceus b/c the old style is simply outdated. The starters look ok, but ultimately their 3rd forms will give the edge on who to pick.

There was no need for Gen 9; we've already got more than enough Pokémon now, and it's just going to result in more one-off appearances (how many Galar Pokémon are going to return, and how many will just be Sword/Shield-exclusive?), making their development time a waste.

Yeah this looks like it builds upon Arceus and that's what I wanted, also based on the trailer the graphics are how a Switch game should look.
Good that Game Freak finally stepped up their game, I hope the gameplay footage also looks this promising.

I would have preferred proper 'remakes'/reimaginations of the previous games. Not these lazy ones like BDSP, but something like Legends Arceus in world building. Show us the history of other regions, or even the future of them.

Like, how many Pokemon do we NEED before we can just stop for awhile? There's so many Pokemon I'm not able to utilize and enjoy because they just keep throwing more and more into the mix. It's getting tiring. I've been playing since gen 1, and I've owned at least one game in every gen, I own pretty much every spin - off, and at this point, I keep forgetting Pokemon in the in - between generations.

I really wish they'd just stop and give a shit about the games that are already out.

As if we haven't proven time and again we'll support the games beyond what is even reasonable to expect in other franchises even if they do nothing but change the models and regurgitate the exact same fucking game 5 times.

Gen 9 looks boring. How about Johto and Unova in PLA style on a new Switch with even better graphics? Pokemon has the resources.

Its kind of too early to tell since they shown basically zero gameplay. Also to people saying there's "too much Pokemon", there was one year where no major Pokemon games were released and fans went ballistic. Now fans complain about too many games? Pick one already.

There's always going to be some type of drama surrounding a franchise that has gone on this long, but that shouldn't stop the developers from making games that make them proud to work on them.
