(Not sure if this has been said by another and/or fixed but) I'm having a certain problem:
So I have Devolution, Cleanrip, and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. I ripped the iso to my hard drive, finished, verified. Nice. Went to Devolution, and it showed up. Now, i had the disc out, and the wii flashed, as it was supposed to. Put the game in so it could be verified, but nothing happens afterwards. There are no 5 flash checker lights, and after waiting for an hour, no dice.

So i tried different methods:
Installing game to SD instead of USB - Still hangs on black screen.
Tried running Devo with disc in - Still hangin
Tried using USB Loader as method for install and Devo run - No go bro
Tried more patience - Lolnope

I have the latest Devo and Cleanrip apps, my Wii loads SA2B normally just fine. The apps load perfectly fine. But when it comes time to verify, I dont get those checker lights.

Three things:

1. Devolution requires Wii Menu v4.0 and newer

2. Devolution requires IOS58 (if you have Wii Menu v4.3 then you already have this)

3. Devolution doesn't like modchips

I have to make sure, some people in the past didn't realize those 3 things.

Other than that, uh... I honestly don't know. Devolution is one of the more simple homebrew to get running since all it actually needs is Wii Menu 4.3 and the Homebrew Channel.

You're welcome to try taking a wifi log and posting it here. Normally it's quite cryptic but seeing how you're not even getting to the verification part the log may be more bare-bones.

He tried it on the SD card. The Homebrew channel cannot even launch a boot.dol if your SD card or USB drive isn't formatted to FAT32.

Your best bet is likely a Wifi Log like Nintendo Maniac said. I can launch Sonic Adventure 2 Battle just fine using Devolution.

What region is your Wii and copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle? I'm just throwing ideas out there. I've got an NTSC-U Wii and so is my copy of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.

My copy is the Player's Choice Edition. Maybe the code is slightly different and the original version doesn't work in Devolution? I know they sometimes add patches to the Player's Choice Editions.

Has anyone found a way to play properly Luigi's Mansion yet?

Do we have any hints from tueidj himself that Devolution's next revision will adress the problem?

AFAIK, All tueidj has talked about regarding the issue is why it occurs - he has not said anything about a solution however.

Out of curiosity, does the issue occur with a PS3 controller? And speaking of which, has anyone tried a PS4 controller yet?

I have not tried a PS3 controller yet. Perhaps I will try it just to report the results. (It is a really uncomfortable controller for my tastes.)

I have tried the three Nintendo Classic controllers so far (Wii U Pro,Classic Controller Pro and the first Wii classic controller.)

The most weird thing is that Luigi's Mansion does not control properly even using Wii Classic controller which has analog triggers!

:(

1. Devolution requires Wii Menu v4.0 and newer

It probably doesn't matter too much, but this isn't true. My Wii console is on the 3.0U System Menu, and I am able to run Devolution from it just fine. I'm guessing that all that Devolution requires is IOS58 and a version of the Homebrew Channel that supports HW_AHBPROT. Perhaps it requires the latest version of the Homebrew Channel and IOS58...

(Sorry that I can't update asap since I work but..)
So in short, I have a 4.3U Nintendo Wii. I have a fat32 formatted SD card and USB drive. I've loaded games off of the USB and SD card before, But this continues to puzzle me. Whats even more confusing is I have a friend that I myself have modified his wii the exact same way as mine, and I used Devolution on his wii and it worked flawlessly. So as to why it's not working with mine is puzzling. The ONLY difference is that my wii is the black wii with the new disc drive, and his is the day one release. I could just use his wii to verify my games, but since we live such a far distance apart its pretty much worthless.

If I would move from a wii to a wiiu, do I have to verify all games again?
I know there is a transfer possibility. But the dvv files are on the usb hdd, so normally I only have to plug the usb hdd to the wiiu and everyhting should work.

You'd have to verify them on the Wii with the Wiimotes and use the same Wiimotes on the Wii U for that verification to carry over (since the Wii U disk drive can't actually read the GameCube disks). There's more information in the readme file that comes with Devolution.

I read in this thread that Timesplitters Future Perfect (US) works with Devolution as of r168 but I simply can't get it to work. My other games are working fine. The disc has been verified with 5 flashes, but then as soon as the game tries to load, the Wii just shuts down. I'm using USB Loader GX.

Any advice would be appreciated.
