SO EXCITED!!! So can this work for the Rvl-101 Model wii? The new one, that does not support gamecube? I haven't read the whole thing cause im sooo excited!!

Guys, tueidj gave clear introduction what to write in here and I just see some stupid AP discussion, if that continues we'll need to think about what to do with the thread.

You'll have to wait until Classic Controller is implemented in Devolution.

Or the Wii Remote, which [member='tueidj'] is already thinking about.

Like I said previously:
My many thanks to the creator and good luck with the project.

From now on I will follow this topic without commenting since I will not use Devolution.

This program is meant to play original games and it only requires a verification once, thats really good imo and nothing annoying. I just dont wanna hear which software and hardware you use to bypass it :P It would be just better to hear how people talk about how much fun gc games make and not how to play warez.

Sure agreed agreed :)

For the record I love the work done by Devolution ... it has given me the one ability usb loading lacked in correct audio streaming.
Playing Crazy Taxi with Audio streaming from USB made me smile as soon as the Offspring and Bad Religion kicked in.

So therefore I need to applaud the author. Dios Mios helped a great deal in the past but well playing Crazy Taxi without that missing audio .. .well .. its not much fun.
Now all of my stuff can sit safely on the hard drive. And the originals and backup GCOS version can go back to my storage facility :)

Edit:
I'll also refrain from posting in the AP discussion. From my point it was just a test and report no more no less.
The rest can do trial and error on their own.

@FIX94 ... that one was probably meant for me ... sorry for that ... just posted my findings to be honest.
I'll refrain from giving further comments on other games and the backup possiblity for them here.
I'm sure [member='FIX94'] could correct me if I'm wrong but just testing to make sure that it is correctly verifying and playing games the NORMAL way and reporting back seems perfectly fine. Once a compatibility list is made someone could then come back later and put all of your posts in along with anyone else who was doing the same thing.

What I also greatly love about Devolution ... the one click on the power button takes you back to the HBC from a game :D
Thats just brilliant :)

@Maxternal thanks for the positive reaction but I also have to agree that the OP asked not to discusss AP.
So in the best interest, I have decided to leave that discussion.
Devolution fulfills a need for me :) the one I was lacking till now :D

Edit: Side question ... anybody know for sure if Virtua Striker did or did not have audio streaming ?

I finally got around to use it. And I gotta say...compared to how early versions of swiss or DML and DM behaved, this was a walk in the park. :D

1. get devolution from the first post as well as cleanrip.
2. use cleanrip to dump your game
3. move the iso from the root to a \games subfolder (I put the other two created files with it, but that's probably not needed)
4. start devolution. Select your game and start it.

That's all there is to it. I gotta admit at first I thought it was reading from the disc. But that blue light thingy still happens without the disc (had read over that part in the OP).

I gotta admit, though, that I've purposely tried Star fox adventures (PAL), which is about the only confirmed working & audio streaming game I have (I'll try eternal darkness soon).

Also interesting: this program works fine under uneek2o as well (though it probably can't locate the USB drive there).

There's one thing, though...the game said the memory card was corrupted. Is that normal, and can I to format without fear of losing my entire SD-card? :)

Normal thing on first boot since its a unformatted raw file which gets created on your sd card/usb storage, just containing useless data, so you can format it without any problem.

@Wever

The other files created by cleanrip are not needed for use.

Nah the memory card is probably due to it using the virtual memory card by default ;) I still have to test that but that is what the OP noted.
The dol version is currently compiled like that. It would be neat to see that as a toggleable option in the future for us people with a real NGC memory card.
As I have not found a good way to transfer a save file from actual memorycard to virtual memorycard a way to do so would also be great :)

@Wever Like others have said, it's normal. It's stored under /apps/gc_devo if you were wondering, as memcard.bin.

Thanks for the reply. :)
Just tested it, and indeed: works even more charmingly flawless as before. :)

Right if we talk about it, still havent added the option to wiiflow to disable it heh.

It's really simple to get Devolution to use a real memory card. Just set the cluster for the memory card struct to 0 and it'll check for real memcards. :)
