hi, I tried the atari jaguar with aliens vs predator and Cannon fodder, both freezes when loading the rom, with an error code. I am on 3.0.0
If it gives you a error code, why wouldn't u post it here?

Try deleting the config file for this build and make sure there isn't a .cfg in /switch/ either.
thanks, but the same speed as the other jaguar core and choppy audio on avp, but anyway, thanks!

Stuff is still being optimized, just give me some time over the weekend :P

Audio is choppy because Vsync is on by default without config.

So delete config, Go Settings->Video->VSYNC = Off, Try again!
Needs to be done every start right now.

Beetle-PSX STILL DOESN'T COMPILE! Even when I tried simias's Switch repo and patched the Makefile!
I'm going to try again with the CD turned off and see what happens.

Please, I appreciate your effort, but you shouldn't move past the developer equivalent of painting by numbers.

Same results as before, just on other cores; threading helps with speed, and vsync on causes micro-pops in the audio.

Mornyeh

Did you have any crashing issues (besides loading different roms, after loading one already)?

At the moment, no -- only when loading a rom after another (short of Gambatte, which still doesn't like playing a few games).
Well that's reassuring!
Already have a Idea what the Issue could be, but stuck at work for hours :P

@m4xw the new builds are working great audio cracks alittle that you know of. When closing content on snes the app goes to the horizon press a screen and freezes and every build does the same when exiting from exit retroarc. Also when closing content it freezes at a black screen. i did delete the config files and set threaded to true.

I know of that issues, thanks anyway.
It's not finished yet, only a preview.

Can someone try this vba-next build https://git.m4xw.net/Switch/RetroArch/vba-next/-/jobs/artifacts/master/download?job=package
Its the only core currently using threading in it's master branch with the old audio ""fix"", could you guys try it?

Shouldn't need deleted configs. I only care about audio quality for this build.

Still stuck at work for 2h

I am just posting this because after 50min of testing I am not wasting this data lol

Tests done on Handheld mode - 5.0.2

  • Tales of Phantasia Test (Pushed A one time to get to title screen)
    • Threaded w/ VSync Off
      • Lasts before crash : 5:36min and 1:28min then error 2345-0021
    • Unthreaded (like unleaded gas) w/ VSync Off
      • Lasts before crash : I let it loop 4 times through the intro - 4:45min per intro * 4 = 19min and no crash
    • Threaded w/ VSync On
      • Lasts before crash : I let it loop 4 times through the intro - 4:45min per intro * 4 = 19min and no crash

Btw thanks for doing this. This will be really helpful to me. Probably smth about thread synchronization.

I fixed up the control scheme in PRBoom, triggers now fire/use by default. Anyone care to try it out? This should be the final release till threaded video gets fixed, the game runs in 320x200 so tearing is hardly noticeable.

Btw did the stability issues resolve on this core?
Or were there not any stability issues to begin with?

I managed to compile the fuse emulator (sinclair zx spectrum). this was compiled from the fuse master git
Enjoy :switch::wub:

edit:
By default the controller type settings should be configurable per game on the fly by accessing the retroarch menu while ingame (start and select usually) and from there going to controls and selecting the type of controller the game requires. The game when booted in the emulator will usually tell you what type of controller it requires.
Select also brings up a virtual keyboard with most of the controllers types that i've tried

I never found any stability issues to begin with, just the other day I finished "The Shores of Hell" with no problems.
