Hacking Question Deleting Game Updates?

So I'm on FW 5.10 / Kosmos v11.11.1 and installed a game update via Goldleaf (with option "ignore firmware"). After that the game did not start anymore, because (I guess) a higher System FW is required by the update. I uninstalled the updated game and reinstalled the base version of the game again. When I try to start it, the message appears "Cancel / Download Update".
From what I've read so far, my only option to get rid of this message is to install devmenu , right? I tried to install devmenu following a tutorial (installing the Hulu.nsp), but the Hulu-App always closes with an error. Any idea why?

As an alternative to devmenu would a reset back to stock via the recovery menu delete the game update info? I don't mind setting up the whole system again if it would work.

If you receive an error, it's helpful if you show it in your question. Devmenu can reset the update info. I am not sure if you can completely delete the game from the data management and simply install it again.

Yip, here is a more detailed description of what happened when I start the Hulu-App (devmenu):
• a message occurs, saying "No internet connection possible - check your settings" with the options "Cancel / Internet settings" > I choose "Cancel" cause my Wifi is always off and Airplane Mode is on
• then the error code: 2124-8006 is shown, saying that no internet connection is possible, check your settings, if the problem persists please restart your console > only option is "OK"
• after choosing "Ok" the following message pops up: The software was closed due to an error" > only option is "OK"
• "OK" brings me back to the Switch dashboard

Maybe helpfull: I followed a tutorial with the title "How to install the Nintendo switch devmenu on any FW..."

You ignored the firmware requirements during the installation? Also try to delete all your networks and turn airplane mode off.

Update info is stored in the firmware. At the time of release of 5.10 that particular game had an update, and the firmware knows about it.

Your only option is to look for that specific update and apply it.

If you want to have the latest update then try with tinfoil, lithium etc.

Thx for your help, but the error(s) remain even after installing the Hulu.nsp with the "ignore firmware"-option, with airplane mode off and deleting all network connections.

Cause I couldn't manage to install devmenu I just booted into recovery mode and set the switch back to stock. After setting the console up again and installing the game again I could start it without any message asking for a required update.

As new ones are added, old ones are overwritten. So there is always just 1 update.

When you install updates via .nsp with tinfoil, the old ones stay on your sd and you have to delete them manually with devemnu. otherwise games like mortal kombat take ober 80gb of space someday on your sd because the update files are really big.
