He doesn't have full kernel access though. CFW only runs in userland (ARM9). Regardless though, I just recommended SSU for the hash checks.
I don't think Safesysupdater have the 10.5 hashes, only 9.0-9.2, wich is exactly what it was programmed for: downgrading to 9.0-9.2. nothing else really

Ah. You'd think it would be coded to read from a list file rather than have the hashes hard-coded. Would shave off some filesize as well.

It has an extra file for every Version between 9.0-9.2 for every Region. These files are in the same directory as the .3dsx file, so in theory, anyone could add other Versions as well I think.

Is it fully impossible for HANS to go to the home menu? I saw a post earlier in the thread about how it can't launch those applets since they're fake titles but I wonder if it could still get to those if we edited the source to not override the Home Menu button and ran a regular app to get to it.

The eShop hans spoofer is freezing for me the second I successfully sign in. I'm accessing it using sysNAND 9.2.0 which has been patched with NVER to allow access and friend module for bypassing the update message on online game services.

How do I go about fixing this?

So uh

What is hans for exactly?
I don't know the technical details, but it allows you to run games region-free, run games that require a higher firmware, apply patches to a game (translations, that sort of thing), and take screenshots.

Ah, I see. Are there any tutorials on how to do those things?

Do you already have a way of launching homebrew?

Way ahead of you on that bro, my 3ds is far from a pure virgin

If so, you just need to run it and choose the target game, though you should check this first https://gbatemp.net/threads/hans-game-compatibility-thread.400903/ because not all games work with it.

Hans comes in smea's homebrew starter kit, so if you have the homebrew launcher chances are you already have everything you need.

Alright, so the list is for both region free and firmware evasion id imagine? And by extension for patching to since i figure that if the game doesnt work then a patched version wouldnt be any different.

I think the list is just to see which ones run at all. The first link in that thread is a wiki list with more information, but it's incomplete.

i really don't know if this is the right place to put this, but fuck, i'm really desperate at this point.

so, i've gone through hours of downloading the fire emblem fates gay hack using one tutorial for homebrew and one for the actual hack, which is this

i'm at the very last spot where you implement the romfs to sd thing, but every time i clock 'ok' to continue with the game, some text appears like everything's going smoothly before i get a black screen with a few white and colored pixels in a line at the far left side.

if i don't push 'yes' for the romfs to sd, everything goes well. but, of course, the hack isn't being implemented.

i really can't tell what i did wrong for this...
