OK, i'm still lost...can't figure out how to do
5. From here, you want to create a new record with properties (NPXS10000;1;ux0;) if you're using a PS Vita or (NPXS10072;1;ux0;) if you're using a PSTV.

6. Additionally, if you're trying to dump the game from the cart, you'll need to create an additional record: (NPXS10000;1;gro0;) or NPXS10072;1;gro0;) for the PS Vita and PSTV respectively.

i don't see anything that says "record" Also, I a' not sure if i need the brackets ( ), i'm assuming not but questiniong because step #6 does not have an open bracket for the pstv but has a closing

You don't use brackets. "New Record" is in SQL DB Browser, it's right next to the table search function

I shouldn't have been so joyous before, it's not working for me again.

You use gro0: for a physical game and ux0: for a digital game. I've forgotten to change that part a few times when switching between games so I've seen the same error in Near.
Also you need to add both gro0 and ux0 into your app.db file in order for them both to work, depending on how you followed the guides depends if you only added one or both of them.

As for the "You cannot use the application that is on this PS Vita card. An icon for the same application is already installed" error. That sometimes happens when you add molecularshell to the games patch folder. It's reading the game as molecular (you can see this on physical games by looking at the icon that appear in the corner showing what game is in), but you've already got molecular as an icon on the vita.

To avoid that error you have to follow the steps properly, even if you've already done them with a different game beforehand.

1. If it's a physical game, insert the game first (do not have molecular shell game patch already installed)
2. Launch molecular shell and create/apply the patch folder.
3. Head over to the browser and use either "gro0" or "ux0" depending on what state of game you have.
4. After Near opens confirm it shows the games manual (it might not for some games but so long as there's no error it should work).
5. Return to home menu and enter game, molecular shell will load.

I've only every had this issue with physical games and whenever it happens I rename the games mshell patch folder and reinsert the cart, then I do the above steps and it works every time. (just make sure to use the right command and titleID in browser)

Thanks for the post.
When you say u need gro0 Do you mean gro0 or gr0?
the screenshot from the guide says: http://prnt.sc/c1f13d ux0 and gr0

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

i have same problem. in Korea, near app can not be opened so i used other apps. some tutorial says scheme gr0 is gro0 and not like near app, other apps have other flags so i deleted it.
i used other apps but problem is not came from not using near app.
i think i have no psn psp game. mr.gas's original method is using psp game to access. so i think that's the problem.
in this time, it's too late. i cannot access psn store to get one.

ps. i never downloaded psp game. so i have no file in /tm0:/npdrm

there should be act.dat file

no i was wrong. found finally!
in web broswer, you sould write gro0:app/[TITLEID] not ux0:app/[TITLEID]\
solved!

if i type gro0:app/PCSH00250 and enter, it says could not find app...

My game is a phyiscal copy of dead or alive extreme 3. Yes it is as you describe. its readint the game as molecular.. But i dont understand your step.
Apply patch folder? i had already deleted contents of ux0:/patch/PCHSH00250 and replaced with the molecular files.. but gro0 in browser says cannot find app..

I give up. After trying and trying, I'm now unable to even get my save from my persona 4 golden game, the game can't or wont save any longer.

Thanks for the post.

The guide I followed said gro0, so that's what I used and it works for every physical game I've tried it with. I'm not sure gr0 would even work since the partition is named gro0 on the physical cards for the game data, whereas ux0 is the partition on the memory card that contains the the game data.

This is the guide I used, https://github.com/s1cp/VitaGuide/wiki#installing-henkaku

It deals with P4G specifically but before that it takes you through the steps of installing henkaku and editing the app.db in order to successfully access the games files. (it shows pictures for digital games but in the description it mentions any changes needed for physical games)

Btw you can add two lines for NPXS10000 at the "modifying app.db" step, just put one with gro0 and another with ux0.

Hope it helps clear up some of the confusion

near actually also gave me that error, but i just went to the next step, dumped my p4g save, edited it in the p4g save editor and put it back. It still worked

Yeah sometimes it works, I think it's because no other game or app was loaded in the mean time, or since the last time it successfully pulled the manual.

Are you using a digital or physical version of the game? I find my digital games still work even if I miss some of the steps or do them in the wrong order.

If i follow the EXACT guide (before i used gro0 AND ux0 in my app.db, but now i just use gro0) It will still give me could not find location, when i enter the suggested adress in the web browser..... Sigh...

You definitely did the next step where you redirect the NPXS10000 to the Near app? And this one might sound obvious, but did you definitely run henkaku before trying?

Because if you edited the app.db correctly, and you installed henkaku on launch, and you're typing in the correct titleID address. Then there's no reason it shouldn't work.

i don't see these two options...i downloaded what's the newest one off their website. Do i need to enable some sort of option to see "New Record">?

Yup. I did the gro0 new line under the correct tab. and under the correct tab found NPXS again and changed the value to vs0:app/NPXS10027/eboot.bin
.......installed henkaku on vita fresh reboot aswell. :S
Maybe i can try with someone else's app.db? if someone could change it for game: PCSH00250. No idea why that would work. but im frankly starting to give up....

EDIT: the guide mentions:
If the game you want to decrypt uses update files, you'll have to delete them before putting molecularShell's files in ux0:Patch/[TITLEID] and dump the original game without the patches.

I remember dead or alive extreme 2 does have an 1.02 patch. But when i put molecular files in ux0patch/titleID . it is removed right?
EDIT2:
I rebuild my entire datbase, Turnes out it's 100 KB less in size now.
And followed the guide again step for step...
Rebooted vita, reinstalled henkaku. And did the adress thing in browser.
STILL THE SAME.. IM DONE if someone knows how?

Im prbably missing osmething very basic? it's gr ZERO right? not gr Alphabet O

OK, i think i did it, but when i do
9. After Henkaku is reinstalled and working, open up the Browser on the PS Vita and in the URL bar you're going to want to type "ux0:app/APPID" (if the game is digital) or "gro0:app/APPID" (if using a cart). If you don't know the App ID, you can get it from the box of the game if you have a cart (or from the cart itself), the PSN store, or just Google it. The US version of P4G for instance is PCSE00120.

It's opening up the email app, but not a manual (goes to inbox). what can be wrong? I tried it with three games and they tell me to please insert the game or something of that nature. i checked app.db but doesn't look like i inputed information incorrectly

The email app? It should be opening up the near app.

The tbl_uri numbers should look like this and
af42b7884a.png
should be for tbl_app info.

maybe they are using vita tv, that doesn't have near and the guides say to use the email app instead... i think.

Actually the guide says use ux0 or gro0 NOT both at the same time...

Ok i found my problem: i used gr0 in the webbrowser instead of gro0 (double digits loll......)
LOL i knew it was something so small.
Now the near app launches, however it says insert a ps vita game card that contains this application... what now?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

EDIT: I think i have gotten it to work somehow!!!
It shows the game manual in near after doing the adress in webrowser!
starts the molecular app from the game page, and it starts!
Now do I actually download the decrypted game saves then...?
Guide says:
You can now access ux0:app/[TITLEID], where your decrypted game files will be present.

But when i go to ux0:app/ it shows alot of numbers but my game PCSH00250 is not present.. All i see is PCSB and PCSF instead of PCSH... and not even 00250 of those nr's..
So where is my save?

Also it says i should see :

  • app0: (basically the same as ux0:app/[TITLEID], but with mixed files from ux0:Patch as well)
  • addcont0: (DLC Content)
  • savedata0
Where i See app0, ur0 and ux0.. not these savedata and addcont0...

EDIT: I was using molecular app 0.6 which i copied in patch.
Now i placed in molecular app 0.7 and i get these other folders.

EDIT 2: now im getting this "insert other card for this ps vita application"
SIGH......!

IT seems these steps ARE GOLD. They really seem to do the trick!
THANKS.
Final question the guide says: the decrypted files are in gro0:app but where exactly would my savegame be here? or is it only found in savadata0?

The guide says use either gro0 or ux0 depending on whether you have a physical or digital of copy of P4G (since that's what the guide is for). Nothing is stopping you from using both at the same time, I do it and it's fine.

Anyway I'm glad that I could help, your save game is always found in the "savedata0:" partition because the system loads it into there regardless of what type of game you have. How the saves are structured can differ per game, but you'll always find it in that directory.

Have fun :)
