Supercard is really a great card but CycloDS have more updates and more functionnality like In Game cheat menu and Slowmo (I dunno if it's in the Supercard One)

Lol Supercard had all that stuff FIRST!! Plus it is constantly updated.

I do own a SCDS1.
And you are right, that it is a great cart, and that it had all these features first.

BUT as of constant updates, the Cyclo is much ahead.
And I *REALLY* hate how the SCDS1 is great technicaly, but than ruins some of it by stupid GUI decisions.

This cart would be near perfect if:
*) cheat menu would be more usable (smaller font, wordwrap ... cheats being actually able to be read fully)
*) same with RT guide ... font muuuuuuuuuch too big
*) abandon silly abbreviated DOS 8.3 save filenames
*) in game menu, so that features are not only available per hotkey

I mentioned these on the official forum, but I did not het much reaction, expect a mod told me that he will forward my post to the actual coders.

This sucks. Literally no more than 5 minutes after posting on a very busy gaming forum encouraging people to buy a Cyclo over an R4, and then I read this.

Um, I don't think that's real, these are flash card dealers we're talking about, not the mafia. TC wouldn't blackmail or threaten a dealer, the only thing they can do is refuse to sell their products to DX in the future unless they comply with their pricing standards.

Wanna bet on that? May not be the "mafia" but they definitely don't believe in competitive pricing - and judging by their previous tactics they don't have any qualms about making money *however they can* (certainly not limited to cloning others hard work and selling it as if it was their own, or putting money behind campaigns to put their competitors under... makes me wonder exactly why R4 is the *only* product currently targeted by press/gov't agencies)

Your "beloved cyclo" hype was initially staged, unfortunately it caught and here you are - buying things from people you wouldn't want to even be in the same room with, at artificially inflated prices no less (aka: padding their pockets for work/quality that is likely not their own, to a price far above actual projected MSRP) - as the evidence of this thread clearly shows.

And if it is the boobs who I think are behind this and thus putting cash into development on the evolution (aka: as if they'd do the work themselves), as soon as the money stops FLOODING in (aka: it slows to only a RUSH) as you folks start to have your fill of their product - they will abandon you (the one thing they didn't clone from supercard products is the long lasting support - their initial offering, a knockoff supercard slot2 SD, has nott seen a single update since the first one back in November 2006 ffs

If they let DX underprice the Cyclos, then no other reseller would buy Cyclos. So in the end, it does mean a lot less $$$ for Team Cyclops. And it's not exactly greed, it's just protecting their profits.

Whoa there pardner! Don't go disrespecting people who are in the scene further than you. Apologize and thank cory1492 for GBAldr for EZ flash 3-in-1 right now (I know he's not the only one who worked on it but damn, shame on some people hurling insults not knowing who has done what for them).

Funny thing about cory1492's summation of Cyclops team strategy is I posted the same thing in the DX forum and everyone just dismissed it (that they might abandon EVO like they abandoned their slot-2) and thought I was stupid for thinking that.

You get back what you paid.
If you have paid 36$, your refund will be 36$ - for 50 you'll get 50$ refund.

Regarding SCDS1 ... we have all different needs.
I definitely use SCDS1 the most (I have Acekard2, EZFlash V and DSTT as well)
And it is definitely one of the best carts (slightly behind the Cyclo Evo IMHO)

I didn't mean that it doesn't satisfy my needs, what with RTS and in game guide, but the OS is HORRIBLE, I had to switch to DSTT.

The announcement that in a week we'll be refund was placed on wednesday. 2 days left... *sighs*

That's fine... then they should set minimum prices... which they didn't.

Besides, even with the DX deal, people were still buying them from other more local sources since most people don't want to wait for DX shipping.

Maybe I'm being too pragmatic here.
And I definitely do not have enough knowledge, as I just recently bought a DS. (have a PSP for quite some time now)

I really do not understand why TC cloned the slot2 supercard .... but anyways

as slot1 carts are conserned (the actual product), IMHO they are currently the best.

IMHO the top leauge is CycloDS Evo, Supercard DS1 and Acekard RPG.
Supercard is technically great, but they have serious UI issues (cheats cut of to unreadability, no in-game menu ...), Acekard RPG seems not really supported any more by team acekard, and the personal issues of the open source team are also not very helpful.

This does not leave much choice.
And technically the cyclo seems really to be the best of these.

Writing this I mainly use the SCDS1 and I also have an Acekard2 with AKAIO and an EZFlash V.

maybe I know too little, but at the moment I would have no problem being in the same room with TC.

You can buy from any store, KickGaming, RHS, OzModChips, Jandaman, they will all take forever because shipping here in West Coast Canada is really bad, so people in my area, DX ships just as fast as competitors, don't waste money to get things "faster" because they won't...
