Hello, I am having issues with Dragon Quest 9, I am attempting to run the code "Unlock all Wifi Quests" On DSi Twilight Menu++. Whenever after saving my codes I attempt to launch the game it will be stuck on a white screen. Is there any Fix?

Hi!

I have a problem with translated (hacked) ROMs. Previous version of the cheats (2.1.0) is working like a charm with both byte-original and modified ROMs. However, the new version 2.5.0 is different and does not work properly with hacked ROMs any more. I believe this can be related to the offset defined in Game ID line (see the screenshots under spoilers).
Even more, some minor amount of byte-original ROMs are not showing the cheats any more.
FYI, I have DS Lite with R4i Gold Pro 3DS flash card. Tried with both flash card API and TWiLight Menu++.

Can you please comment on this?
  • Is there any quick solution how to make the new version of cheats work again for translated ROMs?
  • Is it possible to get rid of ROM content verification completely (I want to be solely responsible for any unexpected behavior)?
Thank you in advance!

I double checked this, what 2.5.0 has is the correct version as that's the information for the proper dump of the game. I know not of such "translation" version of the game, but if you know something about it that I don't, provide the source of the translation patch and I'll have a look at it.

That's strange, as game ID was different before, and works just fine with both original dump and translated ROM.

I'm talking about not just a single game, but all the games with non-official Russian translation available. Many of such ROMs a are available as ROM only, with no separate patches. As for this specific game from my screenshots (Phantom Hourglass), the patch can be found here: https://shedevr.org.ru/zelda64rus/translations/ph_rus/Zelda_PH_RUS_1.2.zip

Correct me if I wrong, the only option to revert back back to old 2.1.0 behavior is to either replace 8-digit Game ID with old one, or add a game duplicate with same 4-digit and different 8-digit Game ID?

PS: I can share a whole bunch of translated (hacked) ROMs if you are willing to add them to the database (best solution).

Translations are considered ROM hacks, and I can confirm that using the old information didn't allow me to view cheats for the vanilla dump of the game (I tested). I have to add extra entries for translations, ROM hacks, etc. I'm unsure how it could have worked for you given you claim that it worked for both vanilla and the translation version, that just tells me your vanilla dump wasn't clean, because I am here to tell you now, what's in the latest update isn't scuffed information, that's calculated information from the clean dump of the game. Just provide a link to these translations and I'll get them added in. I just hope the patches actually work and aren't set to only work on weird dumps.

This potentially my bad, I have a mess of various old cheat DBs for my 3DS, and recently I've got DS Lite, now trying to sort things out. Just consider my statement as insignificant and excuse me for confusion.

There are no patches for each and every translated ROM, so I can only repost the magnet for already translated ROMs: FBFF8A1CA4102F1B56B00D2B97F4DE4931C285C9. Please let me know if this works (I can re-upload when required).

Hopefully you can help me, I’m using drastic on a gpd xd, can I use these databases and if so how. If this has been explained apologise I’m gonna try and read the thread now.

Perhaps the most inconsequential issue of all time (lol), but I can't seem to get any of the cheats to work for "Dr. Seuss - How the Grinch Stole Christmas!"

Is it possible you would be able to add a working version for storm silver? I think this is the game ID: IPGE D5D82CBF
I'm trying to play it through twilight menu ++, so I don't know how to add codes manually. Thanks a ton

Strange, what are you playing the game on lol?

It does this on all my 3DSes: O2DS, N2DSXL, and N3DSXL. I'm running Twilight Menu++ installed via Universal Updater with all default settings along with your latest cheat database. I suppose something could be wrong with the title, though it seems to work fine and is from a reputable source.

Is there a way to get the database up and running again?

First off, hello. I am new to this place. Valerie, nice to meet you.

Second, i was looking for a cheat database to use for a nintendo ds emulator i have downloaded on my phone a few days ago from out of sheer boredom. Then i found yours after a while. Good job for creating this.

Gave the forum a few reads later that day, found a few versions. Looks like i found the most recent one after a while. Version 2.4.0.

But then... This comes in. I try to download it, it tells me that the repository (whatever this is) does not exist.

So, yes. Is there a way to get it up and running again? Or am i stuck without any help?

It was updated 6 days ago and the repository was renamed, check the first post of the thread again and you'll find the updated link.
