Dead Space 3.

I haven't played it yet, but I feel I might be avoiding it ever since I saw the first trailer.
Learning that they placed Ellie into a save-the-princess role was incredibly frustrating, especially after discovering there's co-op. She was the obvious choice for a partner. Instead we got Generic-Shooter-Bro #2.

I might give it a shot down the road.

So you're saying there's too much action and not enough dead space?

Eh, I've never been a big fan of the franchise. The games looked kind of "meh" - substituting horror for "OOGITY BOOGITY!" jump scares and such. I'm sure they're decent, but when there's so many great games out there, I'd prefer to spend my money elsewhere.

You can pick the first two games up for under $20 these days or even under $10 if you go PC, probably.

Dead Space 1 captures the claustrophobic feeling of being alone in an abandoned space station pretty well, a setting which is rarely visited in games these days. As far as "survival horror" goes for this generation, you won't find better than Dead Space save for maybe Amnesia and Metro 2033. There isn't anymore horror in Resident Evil 4, for reference.

that was an example of people just not bothering to put their foot down when a company trys to change something or push the line and they get away with it, which is what will likely happen with this...and of course the map pack thing was lead by EA. People will buy this game (voting with their wallets) and letting them know its fine that they do all this crap, which they will continue and keep crossing the line until people stop buying what they are selling.

The reason this sticks out is because its not like buying additional stuff for the game like missions or map packs that add to the game, its basically charging for what we used to call back in the day ..."cheat codes". Its not adding more value to the game, its a skip button...that they want to charge for.

I'd just like to point out, that I go to GT all the time and watch all Annoyed Gamers, and you're basically just copy and pasting from there. Especially the "cheat code" part, that was said on there. Which kinda proves that you're hating EA because.. well.. its EA and everybody else is.

not exactly, but he sumerises it and makes those points that i missed, was pissed about it well before. And i have to correct myself about the map packs, that shit was Activision...and they can suck it too. (did i not link the the GT thing?...thought i did) Either way, just more fuel for the fire.

hell even companys i love are guilty as hell of being sleezy. Square Enix pulled some crap recently with "all the bravest" on IOS. It was a game that played itself and was pretty much a scam for microtransactions.

So it's not just EA doing the microtransactions, which as I said. And you just agreed to it. That's what I was saying all alone. EA's Micro transactions aren't mandatory. You don't need them to enjoy the game, where as other companies charge you worse for it. But because it's EA they're getting all the hate as if they're the bad people.

Yes but i never said it was just them, It just so happen the game being talked about was EA. Never said if the game was good or bad, i just know i wont buy it non-used because i dont want to support those practices.

The first Dead Space is fantastic one of the best survival horror games ever, 2 is alright, 3 is straight garbage.

You do know buying the game and not paying for the micro transactions does the exact same thing... right?

I've never played Dead Space. I watched a friend play a few hours of the second one, and I watched some gameplay footage of the third one on Youtube. And honestly? Even just from WATCHING the two games, the second one seemed significantly scarier than the third one.

Been playing the game for a few hours now. It looks absolutely amazing with nVidia 3D Vision! And while the game may be more action-oriented than the first one, it did surprise me a few times with enemies jumping out of unexpected places.

But yeah, unlike the first game, I guess there's not as much tension from hallucinations, sounds of enemies that you can't see and environments that screams "unknown alien infestation".

I decided not to play DS3 when I saw the commercial that had the shitty "rock" version of In the Air Tonight from the Miami Vice movie playing in the background. DS1 is still one of my favorite games this gen.

looks scary as eff. I dont think ill ever play it, but i really like watching the series.
