Hi,

I've recently installed the de_fuse pi pico modchip in my system and works perfectly, however, I can't seem to get the serial console part to work? I've wired the pi's usb output via it's test pads to one of the Wii U's front USB ports (excluding power) but get nothing out of it. Is it me being stupid or is there something I'm missing?

Thanks and apologies if it IS ME being an idiot!

If you are saying you want the pico to show the progress of de_fuse, it should be connected to your PC and be used as a USB serial debugger.

So is it not mean't to pop up in device manager or anything when connected via usb? I assumed that it would come up as a COM port or something. Sorry, I don't much about serial debugging at all.

Yes it will be recognized as a USB com port under windows. Have you dragged the .uf2 file to your pico before connecting to PC? Then you can use sth. like putty to read the output once wiiu is powered on.

Yeah, my Wii U glitches and boots to minute fine. But I get no COM port when connecting it via usb.

EDIT: It seems to be a usb problem with the pico itself, not even the built in usb port is detected anymore.

EDIT 2: Seems it didn't like being wired to one of the Wii U's USB ports, disconnected the usb wires and it's fine, will wire a new micro usb breakout board to it and report back.

Got it, works with the micro usb breakout board. lesson learned.

DO NOT WIRE THE PICO'S USB PORT TO THE WII U's USB PORT OR IT WILL NOT WORK AND WILL DISABLE THE PICO'S BUILTIN USB PORT!
