I'm using a Transformer Prime tablet on ICS.

I couldn't help but notice some input delay in SNES9x EX... while using the keyboard dock, wireless 360 controller, and the on-screen controls.

I'm not seeing the same type of delay in normal android games, such as Gunman Clive.

Is this normal for emulators on android, or are there alternatives that don't have the delay?

All of the emulators I used had no noticable control lag, but that is not an emulator I ever used. Try SNESoid, N64oid, Gameboid, etc "oid" emulators. They are the ones I use, and they play perfectly.
EDIT: Included a legal link to SNESoid, since you specified SNES.

Yup SNESoid's working just fine with both the keyboard and the controller.

Now to figure out if there's a way to reduce the video latency when connecting the tablet via HDMI to the downstairs TV, and I'll be set with yet another a portable emulation device.

Also thanks for the slideme link, wasn't aware of that, definitely got that installed now.

That might be device specific, since HDMI out with 0 video lag requires a pretty decent processor. I remember playing SNESoid, GameBoid, and N64oid on my Acer A101 (Dual core Tegra 2, 1.0 GHZ each) via HDMI and using a Wiimote with Classic Controller, with no video lag either. Everything played just like it was on a real SNES, especially with the Classic Controller regular, not pro.

What device are you using?
