Gaming Dad needs help with xbox live

Hi all - apologies if this is in the wrong section.
Santa came (LOL) and left a brand new xbox with gold membership for 12 months.
Have 2 kids plus myself and better half. Is it possible to run 4 different profiles off one gold subscription? or use silver accounts and one main gold account?
Completely lost with this.
Son and daughter wants to be able to play games and talk to their friends online (they are only 9 and 11 years old)
Wife and I wants full access including films etc.

Anyone please help or point in right direction!!

Erm.
You'll have to get a Family card iirc.
Not entirely sure about it but it's not possible to run 4 profiles on 1 Live card.
It's either 3 Free accounts and 1 paid or all on 1 account.

Not sure about this, but as far as i know a gold account can only be tied to one use account, you can still have others accounts over the silver subscription but they will not have full access to online features.

You may leave the gold account open to them and try to set-up some parental control...
