Hacking CycloWiz Update Coming - This week.

Can't wait until the wii modchip becomes stable state, right now it's still fresh and need improvements.

I think the WiiKey is pretty stable, it plays all it's own region games.
It plays the maximum amount of other region games as possible for a chip drive.
It has good support for media, even works with rewriteable media.
It doesn't idle the DVD player causing DRE's like Wiinja V1 did.
It doesn't lower the disc reading speed causing stuttering movies like Cyclowiz 1&2 do.
Works perfectly fine with GC stuff as well.

I think for other really interesting feautures (Wii Homebrew, Virtual Console hack), new discoveries have to be made. And afaik the XBOX360 doesn't even have homebrew supporting chips yet, so it'll probably take some times until really superior mod chips arrive. So I think at this moment it's pretty stable... ( If you just don't buy CycloWiz that is

People with drive chips will be able to play homebrew too, I think when homebrew comes around we could see a custom firmware not needing a bios altering modchip, someone could hack the firmware update on a game and someone could write a custom bios and flash our wii's via dvd.

Oh and more stable? We've already come to the end of the line in dvd drive modchips, theres nothing left to acomplish, the aim was simple, boot backups...and wiikey does it well.

The issue with that is that any change to a game makes the digital signature worthless and therefore the Wii game won't run. Unless someone cracks the digital signature the only way that any firmware changes will take place is by way of some physical modification of the motherboard, even if that doesn't necessarily mean a permanent chip.

What I mean is that you have a chicken and egg problem there:
In order to hack the firmware we need to run unsigned code
In order to run unsigned code we need to hack the firmware

See what I mean?

Not yet.. I received an e-mail from teamcyclops and they sayd to be patient, and I will not be desapointed.

I think they precipted the anounce becouse the Wiikey is becoming famous with it´s features.

The update is not a fake.. but the day of release is.

there will never be an update, live with it, de-solder your chip and get sth. better.

I've received a similar reply to my E-mail. At the moment I do think that team cyclops will release an update, as they have yet to fail in doing what they say the will. I have however always noticed great time differences with what they say and what is reality.

Micheal, sorry for sounding like an Ass. Perhaps because you're portuguse and i believe team cyclops are spanish...desapointed is an actual word in spanish is it not? Sorry again.

I honestly dont see an update coming, if there is one coming the only reason we havent got it yet is because team cyclops havent recieved thier wiikey yet and therefore can't rip the code.

Im just fed up of them saying later this week and then almost a week later and nothing, Im let down and im sure alot of the other customers are. If the update does get released im expecting to see wii boards flooded with "Help, Bricked my cyclowiz!"

Team cyclops, please prove me wrong, the haters wrong and prove that buying your product was worth it.

The way i see it is, if they really had an update coming why leave it this long? They could have slightly crushed wiikey but now they've left it far too late and wiikey have walked all over them.

you´re right.. my teory is that they sayd an update was coming to cyclowiz that do the same of the wiikey to not loose in functions, and atract customers. I think it´ll be released, but not so fast

" That was posted on thier site on the 16th of Feb....Then 10 days later they post an upgrade is almost ready....then later this week we'll see some other annoucement saying how the update is still coming
