So I just reformatted my 4GB SD card to try and hope that the new star wars game would work , but I was updating the latest firmware on my cyclo at the same time and I noticed that my cyclo is now running a bit slower when it boots up and is also taking a while to load up my games D:

anyone know whats up?

Well, I just updated my CycloDS with a 1.41 version of firmware..and I have no problems at all..I never actually tried to play new Star Wars..And I never experienced the thing you're describing..

Maybe if you try to downgrade firmware, and see what happens, you'll see if it speeds up, you'll know that there is something wrong with the firmware upgrade..are you using some BETA or final version of the firmware?!

Hmmmm....I'm just using the updated version...1.41, and I've been testing it a bit, and no slowdown..
Are you sure it isn't because you have started the game for the first time, because it always boots game longer for the first time (so it can make a save file)..
Second time you boot it, it should be quicker..

If that's not the case, I'm not sure what is....try what I suggested, downgrade it and see if it'll speed up!

The Cyclo just will not play that game at the moment, we will need an update before it'll happen.
On the slowdown thing I have had no slow down at all since my udate to 1.5B4..
Hope it helps...

New firmware is out 1.5 version, you should try it and see if it'll fix your slow-downs problem!!

And I have a question......
I never tried it, but I'm interested, if I have filled microSD (not full, but almost full)..Is it possible that I update firmware without removing everything from the microSD, and is that safe to do if it's possible..

Every time I updated firmware so far, I removed everything from my microSD, only copied update, updated CycloDS, and then copied everything to my microSD..but it's a bit annoying to do it with 3.5 GB of games..
So I'm interested if anyone updated firmware with their microSD cart filled?!

Personally, I use a spare microSD to update, then I place the new CycloDS folder into the normal microSD and add my skins and the latest cheats back to it.

But then, I always have been told I do things the hard way.

Nothing goes wrong/moves/etc.
I use .:Mk:.'s program, which dl's the update to my system so I don't even have to bother

@AncientBoi, Yeah, believe you can do PSP games as well. But a Pi5 is much powerful in comparison.

Not sure about other models of Pi4 but the Pi 4 B with 8GBs OCed to 2Ghz handles PSP really great except like 1 game I found and it is playable it just looks bad lol Motor Storm Arctic something or other.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Other games I can have turned up to like 2X and all kinds of enhancements, Motorstorm hmmm nope 1X and no enhancements lol

I will admit that one does seem more interesting than the usual Ambernic ones, and I already liked those.

    I dread the price point.

This looks like one of their premium models, so... $150 :glare:

    To me that seems reasonable.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I mean since basically all the games are errmmm free lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean yeah sure but the specs are the same as a $50 model, it's just those pesky "quality of life" things driving up the price, like an actually working speaker, or buttons that don't melt, and stuff like that.

I think all in my Pi 4 was well north of 200 bucks 150ish for the Pi 4 the case the fancy cooler, then like 70 for the 500GB MicroSD then like 70 for the Xbox controller. But honestly it's a nice set up I really enjoy and to me was worth every penny. (even bought more controllers for 2 or 4 player games.) hmmm have never played any 2 player games yet :(
  • Veho @ Veho:
Yeah that's what I hate about the RPi, it's supposedly $30 or something but it takes an additional $200 of accessories to actually turn it into a working something.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
yes that's the expensive part lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I mean sure it's flexible and stuff but so is uremum but it's fiddly.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Yeah a lot of it I consider a hobby, using Batocera I am constantly adjusting the collection adding and removing stuff, scraping the artwork. Haven't even started on some music for the theme... Also way down the road I am considering attempting to do a WiiFlow knock off lol
  • Veho @ Veho:
I want everything served on a plate plz ktnx, "work" is too much work for me.
  • Veho @ Veho:
Hmm, with that in mind, maybe a complete out-the-box solution with all the games collected, pacthed and optimized for me would be worth $150

Yeah it's all choice and that's a good thing :)
