Homebrew Custom Theme Thread

strange. everything looks fine to me. (btw for the homeebrew you only need the .3dsx and the .sdmh in the chmm2 folder) sorry i couldnt help:/ hopefully someone else can.
Thank you, you tried and that counts a lot. Now I know I have the files in the right place and can start looking for some other reasons.

It's been a while since I ever touched homebrew, but now that I have a CFW enabled 3ds, I guess I'll get back to creating custom themes. Coming back to this page made me want to do so again.

You have already accessed the theme store at least once, this procedure must be performed in order for the theme file to be created in SD. After performing this procedure you must install a default theme.
After performing the above procedure you have put all CHMM2 files in the root of your SD.
Your 3DS is unlocked, if it is unlocked, install the CHMM2 .cia version.

If the problem persists, go to this topic for more information.

Well.. Technically you could say that an official theme but thats not what i meant
What i mean is the downloaded official theme from eshop, if you havent done it then i suggest you do so, it doesnt need to be a prepaid theme a free one would work too

I have access the themes and used the black one, later on in frustration I downloaded all of them from the freeshop, but they were too many so I deleted them all and went back to the store to "buy" a shadow theme but I was already free. Does this count?

I believe you need to use the theme once to make it count, if you only use the base color theme that already exist on 3ds then it doesnt count

Check if the theme you downloaded is not damaged, if the folder name has special characters or accents, remove all these characters otherwise CHMM2 will not install the theme.

Okay I did all of that and still nothing. I had downloaded the themes with freeshop but I was able to uninstall them and download a few from the theme store. I put one from the theme store. I switched it to black, then installed a custom theme. Exit and boot to default white.
I tried installing it on the default white and still no change.
Any other ideas?

I had already asked in that thread and nothing helped. [emoji26] [emoji26]

You should put one of the colored themes, do not use the default theme because CHMM2 will not install the custom theme. Your 3DS is unlocked.

I believe that the problem that is giving in CHMM2 is that it is not being able to modify the Themes. If the problem is this do these procedures.

Access the settings panel, then go to the option to uninstall 3DS applications. Perform the uninstall of the themes application, as you used the Freeshop to download the official themes package should have two theme files. Then perform this procedure, turn on Wi-Fi and go to the theme store in online mode, wait for it to create the files. Then go back to the theme gallery and install a colorful theme. Then go to CHMM2 and try installing a theme.

I already had this problem that you are facing, I just do not know if this procedure will work for you. The error happened because the theme file gets too large and CHMM2 can not modify the data.
