Well it's all because in the current form my custom frodo can't properly save & restore cia (complex interface adapter chip) state... taking snapshot before starting the game works better because game will handle the setting up of chips properly instead of snapshot mechanism which is not complete at the moment...

By the way, it's also possible to get a better native snapshot after the game successfully ran on the wii... just go to the menu where you want to take a snapshot and then take a dump of the savegame from the wii...

I had used yawnd to get a full dump of my wii's nand contents and later could find the snapshot of the giana sisters... There should be an easier way of this through gecko os rebooter...

And since I unbricked my wii and feel safe about hacking banners again, you can expect improvements

If that is the case then it sounds like a command line option is finally viable. You can't tell me that taking a snapshot before running the game isn't somethng that can be done without user intervention.

Well actually it's doable but needs a lot of work... that tool should support d64 (disc image) / t64(tape image) files so that the initial file that should be launched can be selected... and it may not always work or user may want skipping the intros or trainers when making the game into a channel

But taking a dump makes things much complicated.
I will try the method of FGOD.

Hooray!

So as for now this project has only single file games working in the c64 emu? I would love to see EA's Wasteland...yet I think that game accessed the disk quite a bit... that was like my all time favorite game back in the Commie days! I can't believe I still have all those old Commodore machines in the closet.... yet my power supply is probably fried....hehe...

Great work you guys!

how did you get your wii unbricked as it didn't boot autoboot discs? btw, any idea on how to change the cia problem with custom frodo?

Well basically put my new wii's drive (pal) into the bricked wii and booted an autoboot homebrew channel disc, it worked

I had tried a ntsc disc at the modder's place but that hadn't worked... Later understood that I should have tried a pal disc instead...

The modchip in the bricked wii was ofcourse completely failing in either pal or ntsc autoboot discs... Yet I need to make some tests to be sure of that...

Now installed starfall recovery patches into both wii, even with the worst kind of brick I have one spare wii

About the cia problem, need to examine a few clean saves out of vc emulator... Next week I'll have lots of time, that means improvement

i'll be waiting the news with happyness, i'm glad your back wiicrazy, now we finally see some aprovements on the c64 emulation...

btw, i was trying to get in touch with the maker of the frodo port, but he doesn't respond... i hope he still is working on the port...

I am too stopid to make it. If i go to the wii then the controlls dont work.
And i have made the snapshot on the prompt where "RUN" is allready typed in.

I didnt tryed. I mean, typing that with the Wii is not great in my opnion and dont follows the idea of an easy "ready to use" system.
So i better wait to see what wii crazy will bring us.

I can't boot the game. Any reason why? I have tried LOAD"BUB.PRG",8 and that didn't work.

The game is 'Bubble Bobble' by the way.

Did you attach the disc image in the tools menu? (d64 file)

The safest way to open a prg from disc actually

LOAD"$",8:LIST
