Hey guys, was wondering if the way I have cue and track files for SegaCD and PSX emulation set up still allows them to work properly. I have the games in a ROMs folder and within that folder is a cue files folder, picture attached. Just wondering if it will still work fine, thanks.

You should keep your ,cue files with their corresponding files in the same folder
you can also generate .cue files for games you have that are missing them

In addition to what was said above, on PC you can edit the CUE file to set a hard path to the BIN file in any folder, and most emulators (on PC) will handle this properly, but on consoles this isn't always possible.

This.

Or else you can convert you CUE+BIN to CHD (only for GenesisPlus GX), it would be just one file, and the best use of available space, which means more games on the same device B-)

Ok, the issue I have with this is that I don't want it super complicated for friends who come over to play, so is there any renaming or something I can do, especially when many tracks are involved, to make it easier to navigate?

the tracks and bin will be in the cue file like this:

It came like this I believe, except with one extra bin file to play the game, which I moved out of the file to reduce clutter. Game worked fine so I'm not sure if there's much to worry about?

the cue just tells the burner which files go with that particular game. I don't know if wav or mp3 will work. I think it does on the pc, but I'm not sure about a game system. anyway, if it works, I wouldn't mess with it.

Burner? Sorry I'm not the greatest with this stuff, but considering all games I've tried so far work I will leave it. What are cue and track files anyway?

in the case of mega man x3, the other bins are different music tracks. they're playable in a cd player. without the cue file, you'll have no music.

Ah okay. In that case maybe I should put everything in one file, I don't remember much music when I played sensible soccer, only sound fx.
