well i personally jus sent a few dollars over, will send more friday PAY DAY :-) lol

really cant wait for this, as for now am tryna open up my G1 lol

the joys of a unix phone eh..
ooo G1, I want one of those.

Damn guys, I dont really know what to say...Thanks so much. Even If BootMii isnt released by the time I get my wii's back, i should be able to make prelude pristine. I pretty much stayed up all night last night and wrote my own little "BootMii" saving grace.
this is probably one of your biggest hobbies, no? so what are you going to do on your "off-time"?

EDIT: oh wait can't you just use the gamecube emulator to test things for the wii on your computer? or does that apply to certain stuff?

Yeah its a pretty big hobby of mine, I enjoy it. I can still develop features and such while my wii's are away because I've got the system menu loaded in IDA. In my offtime im probably going to map out and investigate some new patch locations, document them and such the way i've been doing, so that when my wii's are back I can install my "System Dashboard" saving grace and continue my work.

Aside from that, visit the family for Thanksgiving and spend time with my girlfriend. oh, and relax

.

you?
awesome, i actually started looking into homebrew development for the wii, figured it's only gunna get better from here so why not learn some things and help contribute to the scene(plus with cSM and bootmii i won't have to worry about bricks from anything i make)

as for Thanksgiving for me, i'm stuffing my face(constantly) and watching football(Titans @ Lions, Seahawks @ Cowboys, Cards @ Eagles)... then friday back to work *sigh*... at least its a short week at work
smile.gif

well enjoy your Thanksgiving and your relaxation as you deserved it dude

I really admire you work Fors, sorry to hear about your Wiis! And I can't thank YOU enough, this is really tedious and generous work!
I will donate 10 bucks. And as soon as I get some more money, I'll donate again!
Hope every thing goes well.

it's hard to see someone who is actually contributing(huge in that matter) to the scene fall to a brick(in this case two!!!)

it's the least anyone can do for someone who is trying to make it more safe to install stuff on our wiis(and save us the trouble/money)

Couldnt agree more. Donating is a personal matter so I certainly wouldnt say anyone is obligated. But it certainly is a nice gesture to show you appreciate his work.

yeah, now you can make this happen on an already 3.4 untouched:

new version does a run-once before deletion upon next boot

Thats pretty excellent - i want a version 3.4 now to test it and see how this all works .... i presume its an install once of twilight with a wad manager and then downgrade to 3.2 to get you back to 'normal' again ?
Has anyone tried this to get back in the game yet ?

nope, i mentioned it a few time in this thread(not sure if anyone actually did it)... seems like people are too scared? don't see why, it's pretty much the same as putting the gamma channel on your wii(the risks and such)

well if you're just talking about putting the save file on there, not true, putting a savefile can't hurt your wii at all, if its "bad" it just wont install....now they could make it run malicious code when you run the hack...but no way twiizers would do that, they aren't meanies.

So I just finished my "System Dashboard". It's a small loader stub that replaces the system menu's loader, and by default (when its executed) it will just happily load the default system menu. You couldnt even tell it was there. But if you're Holding 'X' on the GC pad (or reset if you dont have a GC pad) it will bring up the Dashboard, which allows you to continue booting the system menu, boot into any title in NAND (even other system menu's you've installed if you modified patchmii to download and install them in places other than 00000002), boot a dol from the front sd slot, or run a DOL from a DVD (standard filesystem). Its pretty sweet, think of it as a glorified Rescue Menu, a BootMii, whatever. I doubt that im gunna release it standalone, because BootMii "hooks" in sooner than my Dashboard (bootmii hooks in boot2, whereas mine hooks after boot2 and just before the system menu), and the fact that any nintendo update that updates the system menu will overwrite my dashboard. But its still useful nonetheless, and it will be a feature of any cSM.

I might even change it up so that dashboard loads the default system menu with prelude patches, and make prelude more of a "loader" than a permanent NAND patch. eh, I've got a few weeks to think about it.

The full cSM release though is a complete replacement, and can't utilize a "loader" solution. Many changes for that must be permanent in NAND.
But that's not saying it wont utilize a system dashboard anyways...it would be nice to be able to pick between an official system menu and cSM.

Fors

Also Ps. Im extremely grateful for those of you who adapted my sig (well, EmperorofCanada started the trend
tongue.gif
) Thanks

i was referring to the october 23rd fix by a_running_pir8(thought djtaz was too), you know to get cIOS onto your updated wii... not the twilight hack

thought that might be it, since taz said "to downgrade" or whatever.

Fors, if you want, I can put your donate link on my Website's homepage, and link to this thread. Btw, Your dashboard sounds pretty neat, having both cSM and oSM on the same nand, is great, it's kind of like a dual boot.

Thinking about it is it a pretty good idea. Wish I thought of developing dashboard first, considering how dangerous my cSM development is without it...

Sure do what you like upbumpo

I was gonna suggest it when we talked earlier, but not knowing how to code, I figured I wouldn't tell you how to do your job...you make it sound not that hard tho? thats good.

I like having multi-boot button-holding options for my ds flash cart, thats what it reminds me of.
