Hacking Crown3DS Update

Urgh. It's almost too funny to watch all this. Nowhere near as bad as the PS3 scene though

3DS at least has a few people actively working on reverse engineering the whole thing!

I will just say one simple fact, this is the internet, you can't trust everything you read on the internet.
I personally can make some weird board that doesn't do shit in my basement, then use some editing tricks to make it look real.
They haven't done shit for quite some time now and we are expected to believe the card is real?

They've been trying everything they can since it's been released and we still aren't even close.

I for me think, that we dont need a flashcard like Crown3DS. If this comes out, I will wait until someone or a group release a real Homebrew Channel. The 3DS can use a SD Card, so there is no reason to buy a overpriced flashcard.

If Crown3DS come out the real hackers will analyse it and can make the Homebrew Channel. But I can´t belive that comercial hackers can be successful than hackers they do it because of their conviction and because they have fun on it.

And dont forget: Some manufacturer (Nintendo included) are fighting against flashcards and modchips. You can be sure, that Nintendo will sued the Crown3DS-Team if they release a card an who can say how long they made updates for the card? In any case, it´s better to wait. In the worst case: The inch seized the package with the card and you get a warning. In germany this happend by the PS3-USB-Jailbreak-Dongle. Here´s an article (In german)

The Crown3DS is a supposed 1:1 flashcard. Meaning it is essentially a game card you can swap ROMs with. It wouldn't help with hacking at all, it would just be used for piracy. No one can "scan" it or "analyze" it or anything and have anything come of it, else the Crown3DS team could just release all the info they have to various groups and they could have a go at it.

@Suprgamr232: Look at the R4-flashcard. Some people analyse the card and how it works, so that they can make updates (Wood-firmware), because the original R4-Team is dead.

Sure, The Crown3Ds-Team will protect there work, but it also can be hacked like anything else.

The DSi uses an SD card, I'm pretty sure everyone was like "Woah, the DSi has an SD card, now we'll be able to hack it without needing to pay for flashcart" not that I know a lot about it since I don't own one, but I don't it being hacked already, besides a few exploits.

And people should just wait, it might be real, just grab some popcorn or whatever you like to eat while waiting and wait. x3

A flashcard firmware and a console firmware are completely different. You can't just analyze it and go "Well would you look at that! I have all the private keys!! Wooo! Hack time!". Again, it's a 1:1 flashcard. It won't be able to run any unsigned code. So it's pointless in helping to make CFW for the system.

EDIT: It'd be basically like analyzing a regular game card.

I do not question if the card is real or fake, I just want to point out that anyone can throw a board together and make it look real. This is the internet and you can't trust everything you see on it. Personally I am unsure if this card is real or not, there is evidence pointing in both directions.
In all honesty I don't care either way, I am not going to use the card myself.

I kinda assume it's real but that the team just got too optimistic too early. My guess is when they first made a breakthrough they thought the rest would be relatively simple only to find out it wasn't.

As I wrote in my last section: The risk is to high to order a card like Crown3DS. (At least in germany)
It´s not the point, I wouldn't pay for it.

Some people say: Hey: 80$. If you load the third game, you save money. That´s not what I think: I use a flashcard and custom firmwares first to use emulators and second to have all games on one device, because I´m to lazy to change the modul/disc. Every game that I have on my Wii-HDD, NDs-R4 or on my PSP Memory Stick I also have in my cabinet. (OK, Most PSP games I saved on my pc hard-disc, because my Memorystick is to small to save all. (and it´s good, that I did this, because my umd-drive is broken))

This isn´t it worth enough to pay 80$ or more. For people who use the card to play pirated games the priece is to slow

I wouldn't even have made that warning usually, but knowing that the word "Crown3DS" is an hot word for some members which quickly gets their knickers in a twist, I had to.

Everyone's free to believe what they want, I'm not here to convince someone that it's real, it's just that by saying "FAKE!!", the thread will just degenerate quickly in an acid flame-ware between people who want to prove the cart to be real, and people who want to prove that it's fake.
