So I’ve been installing games on my switch for years now and it’s been absolutely fine, however now for some reason I can’t install any games.

I mainly use Awoo but the same thing is happening with Tinwoo and Gold Leaf as well. Whenever I select to install it, it starts to install and then just crashes with error code ‘2162-0002 (0x4a2)’

I installed a game last week with no issues, but now randomly it’s not letting me. I have updated to the latest atmosphere 1.9.5 with sig patches but I’m still getting the error. I have also removed the custom theme as well just in case that was causing any issues but no luck.

And I also have about 250gb free on my sd card as well so it’s not full.

I have a V1 Switch so no mod chip. I have an emunand partition which is what I use, and I have the WiFi turned off

I have attached a video and images of the error I am getting.

Thanks in advance for your help with this

You can try DBi instead, It helped me in the past, when other apps also had errors installing games.
https://github.com/rashevskyv/dbi/releases (you can use the older english version).
Does it happen to EVERY game or just newer games? Maybe your files are corrupted for some reason.
Did you ever do a "PRODINFO-Blanking" on your switch? That can cause issues on later FW versions.
Do you block every communication to Nintendo servers?
Did you update your Sigpatches and are you using the SYS-Patch sysmodule correctly?

Thanks @Evilengine for getting back. Please see answers below in Red.

  • You can try DBi instead, It helped me in the past, when other apps also had errors installing games - I will give DBI a try as I hadn't tried that installer.
  • Does it happen to EVERY game or just newer games? Maybe your files are corrupted for some reason - It seems to be happening with every game. I've tried the same game from multiple sources but still get the same error.
  • Did you ever do a "PRODINFO-Blanking" on your switch? That can cause issues on later FW versions. - I believe I did but will have to come back to you to confirm.
  • Do you block every communication to Nintendo servers? - Yes I block all Nintendo servers.
  • Did you update your Sigpatches and are you using the SYS-Patch sysmodule correctly? - Yes I updated the Sigpatches. Please confirm what you by using the 'Sys-Patch sysmodule correctly?
Thanks.

The PRODINFO Blanking actually is really annoying, as you can not really remove it afaik, and that leads to system crash in certain moments. It helps to turn off Wifi. My syste mcrashes frequently, when I want to access the Wifi network menu for example.
Atmosphere was changed a while ago, to not allow the Sigpatches the same way. Please read the Sigpatches thread very carefully, that I was posting in my last message. It also has a TAB explaining about SYS-Patch and where to get it.
I remember, that I had to change my hekate.ini file to properly boot the things and I put the Sys patches and also the plugin and now everything works.

The weird thing is that my switch had been working absolutely fine, I updated the firmware, Atmosphere, Hekate & Sigpatches as I needed to update the switch to be able to play the game. After this, I installed the game absolutely fine and played it with no issues. Then a week or so later I wanted to install a couple of other games and started randomly getting this error.

I have always used Sigpatches and have never used the 'SYS-Patch' to be honest, so that may be an issue. I will install this and see if this fixes the error. I will also try installing through DBI as well.

Sorry for the late reply @Evilengine, i reinstalled the sigpatches and sys-patch that you provided, but am still getting errors when installing through Awoo and other installers. I tried through DBI as you suggested, it completed but then said failed. See image below

It is normal, that DBI sometimes says [FAILED] for certain entries, but it said installation complete. Did you try if the game can be started?
btw your NAND is also pretty full, it maybe doesn't make a difference, but maybe it is good to have a little bit more space left..

That’s what confused me. No the game wasn’t installed onto the home screen so couldn’t try it.
Would the NAND memory affect the installation do you think?

What's not normal is the bit about the FAT filesystem being corrupted. If that also happens with an up-to-date version of DBI, then your SD card is probably... well, corrupted.

If you have a spare card, you could try making a new emuNAND and setting up CFW from scratch using it, see if the problem persists.

I’ve ordered a new card and it will be delivered tomorrow, so I’ll set up a new EmuNAND and hopefully that will sort out the issue. I’ll come back with an update.

Your error says FatFileSystem Corrupted.
That is likely your SD card reaching the end of its life or you have a fake card.
Well it’s an Amazon Basics card, thought I’d give it a go as it was a good price, but looks like I’m not going to get another one of those again 😂. I’ll stick to either Sandisk or Samsung as I’ve never had any issues with them.
