That's great news, I think? :)

I just watched the demonstration video, and the behaviour seems exactly like that of the browser exploit (minus, of course, the whole arbitrary code execution part ;)). But like Mario#1 said, that doesn't necessarily guarantee anything.

We're looking into what causes this, but we'll have to create/tap into an exception handler to actually debug what's happening. Not sure yet if it's exploitable. The garbage on the gamepad is part of the system crashing, it's not necessarily a good gauge of how exploitable a bug is.

Well, it seems like this may lead to something! I'm interested because it's the second crash to come from the browser.

There's plenty of potential crashes (see the webkit bug tracker), it's just that most users don't encounter the more obscure webkit bugs.

I gotcha. Yeah, Wololo replied to the post in on his site, so I replied to his, and am waiting other replies. We should attempt to recreate such a file, but of smaller size (and of course, somehow, 'make' the file, at least, a new 'file', which wouldn't technically be considered "copyrighted").

Don't ask me, i have no idea how video encoding works :/ but I could ask someone from the subgroup 'matane'

don't be really useful. it won't do anything on my wiiU

i am getting crash on my wii u ..... way number 3 is forcing my wii u to freeze, and dont work until i am forcing my wii u power off

ya, I tried it too. But I think this one leads to nothing. It freezes the WiiU completely (not possible to press HOME-Button or something else).

Running 5.1.1 on my WiiU and can confirm it crashes on 5.1.1E too.
Proxied Plex' results, and it seems to serve the WiiU a .ts video stream.
I removed most of the frames of the video file ChrisX930 uploaded. It still plays just fine in MPC-HC. Anyone interested in the file? I have both the .ts and the stripped (±61KB) mkv file.

The file is the same as the file ChrisX930 uploaded, and contains the bare minimum to get it to work. If you don't care about the filesize, just download the 898kb file.
