Hacking Coverflow7 USB Loader

OK I have got my computer to connect again, It's seems to be an issue with my Netgear router. For some reason it's blocking gbatemp all of a sudden despite me not even touching it recently. So now I'm plugged in directly to my internet companies router. Means no wireless for me lol.


I just tested the loader and it's looking great. It's loading in place with the images as I always hoped it would. So thanks for persisting with that.

I'm not too happy with what AppleBelly's last message said, it's basically made me out to be a complete arsehole. There is always two sides to the story and I will leave it at that. Hopefully differences aside and pettiness AB can see the benefits of working with Don to finish up some teaks and maybe some improvements here and there.

Like I said I will fix the config.png to say B instead of 2 and I am going to try a different font to see how it is on my screen which is decent size, so if I can see it clearly enough then hopefully so will everyone else when it's done.
 
OK updated both images, bg_last.png and config.png, so here they are to reflect the changes to have B button to switch back and fourth between pages and also modified the text slightly to be a little clearer and removed text from button 2 next to the Wiimote.

Oh and DK, it seems like the images are loading a little faster now just so you know, I think you mentioned trying to get it going smoother so nice work.

I see you have changed the console background to white and it looks much better as a result. Is there a way to make the game text load always centred above the main image or would that not be possible? Right now if you have a smaller named game it loads to the left and if you have a larger name game it looks more centred above the main image, but if you are able to center the text in the console for the main page I think it would finish off the look.

btw, a question: why do we have to put the files "boot.dol" & "config.txt" in the SD:/usb-loaderaAB/ directory ? is this because of version v1.4/v1.5 ??
 
atupac you got it wrong.
you just have to copy the content of SDRoot from the archive to your sd card. all directories are already set for you.

- boot.dol got to the be in usbloaderDK folder in sdroot:/apps/
- config.txt got to be in sdroot/usb-loaderAB/

I just had a quick test with this, you get a code dump if you press a button when the loader is initially trying to connect to the network. Other than that, connecting and downloading the cover artwork worked fine, loading worked fine, I'll have a go testing the other settings a little later. Great work so far, keep it up!

i did, to tell you the truth i hated to see small titles be aligned on the left so we've came to the same conclusion: centering it when needed. to make a long story short -> yep i'm working on it.

Yes i know, it's a common bug (all loaders till now have it), something realted to a library internal bug.

So, did you tried to get the force video to work (forcing PAL games onto an non PAL wii?).

By the way, can you add the letter B, in the middle of the button B on your png? it beeing blank is kinda confusing.
Plus in the config.png, you should edit this line 'Return to Homebrew Channel' to 'Exit/Reboot' or something like that, since you can either return to the HBC or reboot to the system menu. This setting is set in the config.txt.
 
Hmm. i'm still getting Initializing Network failure over Wi-Fi, tested my Wii's interenet connection and all seems to be okay. - Any one else still having this problem?

Wii is a Pal 3.2e

Anyone any ideas on what I could check (might try rebooting my router - "could" be IP Address releated with the address it's trying to reach....)

weird... did you try with alpha3?
Because some (me included and 2 other wii's on making test on) reported it to work:
