Done.

Here you go:

MAIN - Light
1.png

CONFIG - Llight
2.png

MAIN - Dark
1D.png

CONFIG - Dark
2D.png

Remember when using these backgrounds, the main background should be named bg_last.png by default unless you change it in your config.txt.

Also the Settings page background must be named config.pngand in the same directory as your main background (sd:/usb-loaderAB/)

I will no doubt tweak at things but they should be pretty good for now. Maybe when the loader is final I will have some other ones ready and have finished tweaking these ones. Hope you guys enjoy them though. They may look simple but I have been fiddling with them for days lol.

DK got a couple of ideas. I had a look at another loader and it has some nice little touches. Could you implement the Wiimote battery display for the main page? I will fool around with where they could maybe go to look the best, but it would be a nice little touch.

Also what about adding in some sounds for when you scroll games or select stuff, are you able to add any of that?

Wiimote battery display? where did you see that? Just show me where did you saw this.
As for the sound, it shoud be doable, but let's keep it on the todo list. For now, to get allmost all the stuff to work for most of us is what is number one on this list.

by the way, i think that you're gonna kill me... but you should really remove this line ", which is located in sd:usb-loaderAB' since the path is gonna change when everything will be stable (plus like atupac said, the config.txt can later be put on the main app folder alongside the boot.dol).
don't worry i'll edit mine though.

LOL I'm gonna kill you

I'll take that off and just mention that you can edit in the config.txt or something.

Here is the thread with the wiimote battery:
Video showing Wiimote battery

Not sure who made the loader for that one and what they used but you guys will know better than I do. I agree about sound and stuff being added to the todo list, they are superfluous extras so that is cool.

UPDATED

I have updated the images to remove that text mentioning the specific folders, now it just says in config.txt

hey cdreams,, Can you edit your first post to reflect the updates and instructions on this? Like post the links to the latest version, background, post image sizes needed and all the works?

Thanks

Yep, that's a great idea mate.
I was gonna ask if we should create another thread so i can edit the content as soon as a new version is out.
But then i thought that it's kinda useless, see WiiShizzza's started his own thread but it turned to be Hungy doing all the updates/fixes... and Shizzza's keep on updating it as soon as he can.

So either i create another thread (
wink2.gif
) or cdreams HAVE TO update the 1st post anytime a version is out.
Cdreams, go on and tidy that 1st post ^^
By the way, we should get in touch with the guy that made us a black '7 covers' main screen, you know, the one that called it "backgroundAB5.png" with a big "PRESS A TO PLAY" a the top.
Maybe he can help you design some more pics.

Edit: ok got him, it's pepperoni:

Hmm. i'm still getting Initializing Network failure over Wi-Fi, tested my Wii's interenet connection and all seems to be okay. - Any one else still having this problem?

Wii is a Pal 3.2e

Anyone any ideas on what I could check (might try rebooting my router - "could" be IP Address releated with the address it's trying to reach....)

Cheers

That is odd, I'm on exactly the same firmware (PAL 3.2e) and it worked perfectly for me (bar the initial code dump which DK has explained - cheers mate

) Try the router thing and get back to us

still no joy, reset router (change of IP) double check i was'nt having a blonde moment and was deffo using alpha3 (I was) and still fails to int net...
It could be my chipset on Wii or (I have an early one).

DK, could you PM me the URL or IP address for the covers just so I can do a bit more digging.

Thanks

My Wii was a UK launch Wii, if that helps in any way. Like I said, works perfectly for me, it's odd that you're having issues

Maybe you need to open a port on your router?

sure mate, it's the website by djtaz i guess:
http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/%s/%s.png

the 1st %s is gonna be replaced by the region of the game (pal/ntsc/ntscj)
and the 2nd one, by the game id (RBXJ8P)

so the address i'm trying to get for Bleach vs Crusade is: http://www.theotherzone.com/wii/ntscj/RBXJ8P.png

by the way, can you tell me exactly what are the debug message you get (can i have all of them, please?)

Yeah I could have a word with him and see if he would make some alternatives so when the loaders done there can be a folder of sets of backgrounds. My 4 and possibly the one I had before I made these ones, was similar to pepperoni's but modified, and then a few other sets, main and config png's.

that way you can change to what you want by just selecting from the folder. In fact if this could be integrated, added to the todo list, where as mentioned bfore you could actually select backgrounds in the loader. Myabe it could be an option and it had the different names like Dark and Light for my ones and you just choose by pushing left and right in the options box and it saves it to config to select those proper pngs from the folder.

Actually just checked that thread and are you sure that wasn't just my background he modified, I don't recall who made the original, wasn't AppleBelly was it?

Just checked, it was initially Gitkua who had the idea of this kind of loader, then AppleBelly had similar idea and moved it forward.

The originals were only for the 3 image version, I made the 7 one because people kept asking for a way to make more games on screen at a time due to larger game libraries.

Anyhoo, I will have a chat with maybe some of the other graphical guys on here and try get some alternatives whipped up, sure they would like to lend a hand it's a nice loader

Hi DK,

okay the links work fine from my PC to no restriction there (thinking about it it's a net int failure i'm getting so the URL/Ip should have nothing to do with it)

okay, debig messages as follows:

"Initializing Netowrk - try to init net"
"int network failure"
"Download aborted"

then for clutching at straws sake, I thought i would try it with Wii Connect 24 on,

same results however after "int network failure" it quickly shows me another message off "Network Error" the moves to "Download Aborted"

Still working on the loader ey? Looks good!
Only things I'd want to change:
- No console (it looks ugly);
- Use of TrueType fonts (displaying the title in a nice font would be SO much better than the console).
- Installing - Formatting - Deleting from the settings page... without console

nice improvements gitkua, i gonna see what i can do.
i really do love the ttf use.

however, i don't really get the "no console" in the settings... you mean like in the menu?
by using ttf?
