Is it possible to get this working with an EDGE card?

Has anyone got the loader to work? I've looked in the readme.txt but I don't get it.
I can't even load homebrews. Am I doing something wrong? All I've done is put the DScovery.nds and system folder into the root of my card. I also updated it through the windows application.
I can load DScovery and I can see everything but just can't run homebrews or commercial roms. It just freezes after execution. I'm using the latest build as well.
My current card setup is an original R4 with YSmenu as the defult firmware.
It would be great if someone could explain it a little further.

What is loader.nds? Is it YSMenu or something else?

How can I put an R4 version of YSMenu on it, or do I just have to DLDI patch loader.nds???? (to load commercial ROMs with)

Spinal, I got it to work, But when I try to load the ysmenu, it launches the last rom it played. I'm using the DSTT cartridge, So the only way for me to set soft reset is in the ysmenu. But cannnnot get it to load. Anyone else has gotten this problem?

What is the setting and information on the top for? I try to go into it, but get nothing.

when i open dscovered it feezes for about 10 seconds then my DS turns off

OK... need a little more info...

Are you using the latest DScovered.nds?
Did you update your card using the latest DScovery.exe?
Open system/filelist.dat in notepad or something, is there anything in there?


...It shouldn't turn off, I never put anything like that in there.

Is anyone else having any problems?

[edit] Jamstruth - Yes, the checked one are the ones that show in the cover flow.

If it helps I'm using an N5 with a micro SDHC

Dsision 2 didn't have SDHC compatibility

and I'm redownloading the files to see if a bad extract or download problem

edit: still doesn't work

I'm using the latest version of both apps
and yes there is something when I open filelist.dat in notepad (all the games I ticked)

also it doesn't turn off now the screen just turns black

edit again: I've found the problem, I took off most of the games on the win app and now it seems to work but commercial games won't load (I have the loader)

I don't know what the N5 is, but I assume it is an R4 clone. Make sure you set up ysmenu to work on your card, there are quite a few guids to doing so here at gbatemp.

For those who have noticed loader.nds, all it does is set up and load ysmenu. I did this so that other people (in the future?) can create there own loader.nds to use other loaders such as akaio, much the same as in moonshell.

might want to try DLDI patching it.

Yeah, I've tried that as well. I'm just trying to run a homebrew called Readmore. I DLDI patched the homebrew and DScovered still just freezes after execution.

Hey sorry for the question guys (just tuned into this project) - Could anybody tell me how to get this working as a default on my R4 SDHC?

For the app to work, make sure you have the latest .net framework installed (it's coded in .net).
As for making it work on R4 cards, the R4 dldi patch that the R4 menu uses in incompatible with the loader I used.
To get around this problem, download the following tool set via megaupload apply the included dldi patch to DScovered.nds (no other files need patching) then run DLDI No-Patch.exe and apply it to DScovered.nds, this will stop the R4 menu from re-patching DScovered with the wrong dldi patch. You should now be able to load homebrew and ysmenu should also work too.

If any one actually gets this working on an R4 with commercial roms would you be willing to post a screen shot of your root - or better yet zip it up without the commercial roms and post it? I've been trying for a week now and still no luck.

Edit: Just to clarify - I had it installed and was getting pink screens when trying to load roms. Now, I did the above steps on patching the roms and when I load it from the R4 menu it doesn't even load properly (it looks almost corrupted) and freezes when trying to load a rom.
