I've had the same issue since 4.2. The forwarder I had used in the past (not the official one) had always worked with the nunchuk connected and then stopped working period on 4.2 (even without it connected).

I also tried the official forwarder, and the wad posted on this thread not long ago, and always a stack dump on 4.2, whether the nunchuk is connected or not.

Please try CF_r987 and report.

It's built with...
- latest devkitPPC r18
- uses most of latest libraries
- includes Wiimms variable sector sizes (Thanks to Wiimm)
- minor fixes and cleaned code

Hi all,

Tried r987....
For me, (on v4.2) I'm still getting stack dump when loading directly from wii menu for both the wad and forwarder.
It runs fine if executed from HBC.

I rolled back to r933, and under v4.2 it runs directly from wii menu - so it appears that something was introduced between r933 and r976 that is causing me grief with v4.2.

I haven't tried intermediary builds - can do to hone in on the problem if needed and when time permits.

QUOTE(Jaz808 @ Oct 18 2009, 07:37 PM) Is there a 1.3 dol ?

There is no 1.3 - r987 (above) is the latest SVN on the 1.3 development branch.

Even weirder: the above-posted wad works when using it on my emulated NAND.

I'm using my own NAND's dump from earlier today for this, so it makes no sense whatsoever to me.

Does anyone have The Beatles Rock Band working in Coverfloader? My sister just bought that game and since I set her up with Coverfloader, she prefers everything to be run from USB now.

Once I confirmed it wouldn't work on her Wii, I brought it back to my place to experiment. Both of us have the exact same setup: 4.2U, with waninkoko's cIOS 249 rev 14, and hermes' cIOS 222/223 (rev4). When installing cIOS 222, I used IOS 37 merge 38, and cIOS 223 uses IOS 37 merge 60. I've also checked and I do have IOS56 (v5405) installed as well. The only difference is that her Wii is newer and one of the bad LU64 ones, and mine is old enough to have Bootmii installed as boot2 so that I have a proper backup - hence the experimenting on my own console.

For Coverfloader settings, I've got Error 002 fix on (set via presetfix in the xml), IOS Boot default: cIOS 222/223, and none of the other cheats or vidtv patch stuff on, and video mode and language are set to defaults.

Both manually selecting IOS 222 and manually selecting IOS 223 give me a black screen, with block IOS reload on either setting.

Manually selecting to load it with cIOS 249 boots the game. However, it's my understanding (I could be wrong) that while cIOS 249 works with the microphone, it does not work with other USB instruments (she's got the wireless RB2 stuff with the dongle). As I don't have them in front of me to test and I'd prefer not to check on her system unless I'm sure it'll work, any advice on that would be appreciated.

But mainly, I'm just really confused in general, because I've read that others using the same cIOS 222/223 setup as me have it working. I guess it could be this specific loader, but I have no desire to switch, so I'm hoping someone else has suggestions on what I might be doing wrong, thanks.

Edit: And yes, for the record, I have read the long thread on the subject, but nobody there who has it working is using this loader.

Edit2: Okay, I feel really stupid, after writing that huge post. Apparently I need anti-002 fix when using cIOS 222, not just in TB:RB, but lots of games. I didn't realize that it uses the old bad way of fixing 002. I guess the smarter solution would be to use cIOS 222 only for the dual-layer games for me and the music games for her, and use cIOS 249 for everything else, I just assumed it was using the new method as well.

edit: nevermind, I found the solution already... it was in a sticky topic

This might be a stupid feature to some, but something else that might be nice if further work is done on the app in the future, would be a separate title-override file. I realize that this loader uses titles.txt for the game titles and that can be downloaded from the internet. I love being able to update that from the internet, but sometimes those names don't really work for me and I'd like to change them. I can easily go in and change the entry in the titles.txt file, but then the next time I update that file, it gets overwritten again. A good example is Okami, which I'd want in alphabetical order by the O's. The downloaded titles.txt puts an accent over the O though, so it goes to the end of the list.

I don't know if it's possible to, but what'd make sense to me is an override file that has the custom entries that I enter in. Then, if the loader doesn't find the game there, then it could look in the downloaded titles.txt file and use that.

It's not a big deal or anything, but if any of the coders gets bored and wants work to do, it'd be appreciated.

Is there anyway to either have the loader auto detect which error games will throw and auto fix them, or can I just turn on error 02 for EVERYTHING and it always work?

Automatic fixing is the way to go I think...

If you use cIOS 249, turn on Error 002 fix for everything, and it'll work (which I believe is presetFix=1 in the wiicoverflow.xml file). For cIOS 222, turn on anti-fix for everything and it'll all work, I believe. That's presetFix=2 in the same file.

Any game that you already have settings for won't be overridden by the preset fix though.

Here is a solution. Please try CF_r988 and report.

You have to create your own file owntitles.txt which contains only the titles with your changes.
Use the same format and location as titles.txt.

After you've downloaded a new titles.txt CF_r988 combines it with your owntitles.txt. (if exist)
Your changes are visible at once, a possible new sorting order is shown on next start...

Hi!
I'm using coverflow. I did the mod a few months ago. I BOUGHT the wii resort, but I noticed it required an update. I don't want to run the update as I figured it'll brick the unit. How can I play my original Resort CD on my Wii? I'm not trying to play a backup of my Resort. Is there a way?

StarStreak - the update will not brick your wii, Nintendo is quite good with there own technology and the worst that could happen is some homebrew is deleted or stops working. Wii Sports Resort would be 4.1, and the updated versions of the homebrew channel will still work so no worries.

But if you don't want the update try this: booting the game with an alternate Dol file. if you search the forums or google it, you can find out more about it.

Thanks, this is working great.

Thanks. It took me a while to get the unit to work when I first did all the updates. At this point, I forgot how I did it. I'm rereading what I did right now. Are you saying if I use the alternate Dol file is that creating a boot chanel for the Resort game, or something I need to use the homebrew channel to run the original game every time I want to play?
Btw, sorry if I'm going off topic. If you can PM me wih the answer or what forum I'm better doing a search in for my answer, I would be grateful.

Try running the game through GeckoOS and having that just install whatever it needs to run. Then you can either just continue running the game through that or the update message might go away after that and you can play it through the disc channel again. Not sure if it would, if it doesn't, you could always install preloader or startpatch and have that block disc update checks and just run it through the disc channel then.

Yay! I upgraded to 4.2 and redid my Wii. I can play my Wii Resort cd.
On a side note, and back on topic, I downloaded the newest coverloader, and I'm getting random screen dumps. And I had it try and dload all my 3dcovers again but nothing downloaded. Did I do something wrong?
(on a clean SD card, where I didn't have coverflow installed yet)
1) Dloaded v1.2 of loader and channel
2) I put the loader(after unzipping it) into the apps folder.
3) I put the CoverFloader1.2.wad into the main directory of the SD card.
4) I loaded the Coverfloader from the Homebrew page.
5) I swtched to 3d. and downloaded 3d covers. It used to load in fast. It took almost 15-20 seconds for each load. About 30 titles. At the end, covers didn't show up.
6) Tested a game, it worked.
7) Shutdown/Restarted(I still need to do this after every game, right?)
8) I tried the coverflowder channel, it worked.
9) Rebooted, and tried the coverflowder channel again, and I got a screen dump.
10) Rebooted. Tried again, and screen dump again.
11) Rebooted, tried from homebrew channel. Screen dump again.
12) Rebooted, tried from homebrew channel again, it loaded.

I had to stop at this point. Any idea why I was crashing to screen dumps? And why none of the 3d covers worked? And if it's supposed to take a long time to load?
Sorry, I'm not at home so I don't have what was in the screen dumps.
