WiiMonkey, could you edit your post and delete the link to the bad build dol you posted? Otherwise this thread will get bloated with: "it's not working" messages...

Assuming the code hasn't changed since this morning, covers need to be in /usb-loader/covers. Also, it looked video was hard-coded to force NTSC.

HAHA! Looks like I was a couple days behind you on a CoverFlow loader. I got the coverflow working, I just need to integrate it into an existing loader. My plan was to make it so that you can pick a GUI in the settings (coverflow, 2D old-school, carousel, etc) and it will load whatever.

Looks great! I guess I should've looked into GRRLIB before I started coding since I'm doing all the GX manipulation myself.

Will this have auto-download at some point I hope?

Only if someone else joins the project who wants to implement it... (Its not on my priority list)

Very quick work on this and great to see. Just one curiosity though. I loaded it up and it loads my images fine but they looks quite elongated and the texture of the game image is quite pixellated. Any ideas what is causing that or is that what it is like currently?

I'm using a 43" Widescreen Plasma if that makes a difference?

Also I was wondering, to keep the reflections looking good, are you able to only reflect the center image and a couple either side, any more and it gets blended with the other reflections and it just makes a mess and loses it's attractiveness.

Apart from that, yeah loaded a game and it booted to Japanese menu for some reason, but I am sure your aware of that stuff. I like the loading bar at the start, nice and clean and allows stuff to be loaded without wondering what is happening.

Hi,

Just a quick thought regarding 3d covers and cover flow.

coverflow take one image (front cover) and add the perspective to it as it moves, which gives it its flow..

The current 3d covers would not work as the perspective is part of the image, spine at the front going back to the fore edge(the opening part of the box). When the loader adds its own perspective and the images would look strange.

Sorry about the poor images(it just an example)

I think for 3d covers to work it would require 3 images of the same box art
(spine to fore-edge) (front ) (fore-edge to spine)

so it would something like this

But this would still look strange once the loader adds perspective...

I can only see this working if the loader was built for 3d covers where the boxes (blank) were part of the loader as placements and only the front image would be loaded as it does now.

Then you have the ends where the covers are lined up and squashed together, if using 3d covers this would look messy.

I can see it being a lot of work to get 3d covers working properly and personally i prefer the way it looks now. keep up the good work, it looks cool.
